When I was small, sometimes my mum gave the family a funny special treat—she would make breakfast food for dinner.
I remember she did so one night. She had been at work all day but wanted to do something special for us all. On that evening, my mum put a plate of eggs and very burnt toast (烤焦的面包) in front of my dad. I waited to see if anyone noticed. Life if full of imperfect things. Nobody is perfect either. I’m not the best at anything. I forget birthdays and other important events just like everyone else does. I’ve learned something important from my father. Understanding is the basis of everything, whether between a husband and wife, a parent and child or just between two friends. Remember, burnt toast never hurts anyone. It’s the people with the kind thoughts who makes life worth living.

范文欣赏(Appreciation of Model Compositions)
In Grade Eight, I took part in an English competition at school.During the period before the game, I played computer games in my room every day when I got home after school. But I told my parents I was studying in my own room. So I failed in the English competition. As a result,I got the last place in the exam.
Losing the competition made me sad and nervous. I was scared because my parents were very strict with me. I was afraid they punished me. However, they encourged me instead of punishing me. I cried. Later, I made a promise that I would study hard. Ever since then, I have studied hard.
I have learned a lot from the experience. First, we must not play watch TV or computer games every day as students. It must get in the way of our schoolwork.Second, we should listen carefully in class and do more difficult exercises after school.

Everyone has some unforgettable experiences. I will never forget the day I went hiking with my classmates.
One Sunday last spring, our class went hiking in the mountains. At first, my classmates and I walked fast with excitement. But later I gradually felt tired and started to breathe heavily. And I was so hot that I wanted to stop climbing. All I'd like to do was to go home and enjoy a shower. Soon I fell behind others. Just then, Tom came up to me and asked me how I felt and let me have a rest for a while. Besides, he told me not to give up and encouraged me to go on climbing. In the end, I reached the top happily together with my classmates. I felt grateful not only for his encouragement, but also for the lesson he taught me.
This experience taught me I can get what I want if I hold on. From then on, it always encouraged me to face the difficulties I met in my life.
