第一节 (满分15分)
Dear Teachers, Fellow Students, and Host Family,
As my exchange year concludes, I reflect on the challenges that have shaped me. Adapting to a new culture and overcoming language barriers were demanding tasks. Yet, with your support, I've grown, learned to navigate life here, and even taught Laura to cook my stir-fried tomatoes and eggs!
I'm grateful for the lessons in both business and cultural exchange. Your encouragement has been my strength. As I return home, I carry the ambition to build bridges between us. Thank you for an unforgettable year.
Farewell, and best wishes to you all.
Thank you.
第二节 (满分 25 分)
Once upon a time in a small village in ancient China, there lived a young man named Kuang Heng. He had a great thirst for knowledge, but his family was too poor to afford a lamp for him to study at night.
One evening, as he sat in the dark, he noticed a faint glow of light seeping through a crack in the wall, which came from the lamp of his neighbor. Kuang Heng’s eyes lit up with an idea. He carefully dug a small hole in the wall, just large enough to let in a beam of light. From that day forward, Kuang Heng would huddle by the hole in the wall, using the stolen light to read his books and study late into the night. In this way, he taught himself many ancient classic books.
The story of Kuang Heng has been passed down through generations, reminding us all that where there is a will, there is always a way to overcome obstacles and achieve our goals.

W: I’ve got some. How about picking each other a book instead
M: Great idea!
Text 2
M: I don’t know too much about social application. However, this pair of VR glasses really interests me!

Text 3
M: Would you like anything for your birthday Your mom will make a cake. How about a pretty dress
W: There’s a company that gives away free trees, and we can plant them at places on the list they offered. I’d prefer that. We all need to help save the planet.

M: No. I’m leaving for the weekend, Beth. Plus, we have Monday off. So, I’ll return home that night.
W: Fine. I’ll see you in school the day after that.
Text 5
M: As one of the world’s most successful recording artists, where do your ideas come from

Text 10
M: I’m Jack from Shanghai, reporting from the opening of “Culture and Ceremony: Bronze (青铜) in Ancient China”, a new exhibition at the British Museum in London. Visitors have come to admire fantastic treasures from the National Museum of China in Beijing. As part of an exchange program, we’ve brought some of our best bronze pieces to put on display. Bronze has an important place in Chinese history. The beautiful and detailed designs are a reflection of the wisdom and artistic talent of our ancestors.
The program began with the British Museum’s exhibition in Beijing in 2015. The aim is to promote cultural exchange between nations. Although there are a lot of bronze pieces to see here, it’s a small selection of what the National Museum of China has. We can see visitors are amazed by the long-standing culture of ancient China. We hope this taste will encourage more people to visit Beijing in the future!
The exhibition runs for six months. Although the British Museum is free, tickets are necessary for this special exhibition to control visitor numbers. You can buy tickets online, and I suggest you do it quickly as they’re selling fast!
