“Gluten free(无麸质), lactose free(无乳糖), vegan...” These ideas on diet might sound unfamiliar to many in China. That's why Wang Jiaqi, a 16-year-old girl from Beijing, opened a special ice cream store called EIS Engelchen in Beijing's Sanlitun to spread a healthier way to enjoy ice cream.
“My friends and I love ice cream, but we’ve never encountered an ice cream that really‘wows’ us,”Wang said. Then one day she heard her mom say that she had the best gelato of her life at an ice cream shop in a town in Germany. “I immediately wanted to go there and try it for myself,” she added.
Lucky for her, during her summer holiday, Wang was able to go to the town and work as a waitress selling ice cream. “I not only got to taste it myself, but also learned about the healthy idea. In China, where many people are lactose intolerant(不耐受) or vegan, finding suitable ice cream is challenging due to the common use of milk and eggs.” So, Wang decided to bring this ice cream back to China to be enjoyed by even more people.
At the time, the brand was only sold to cafés and hotels in Germany. But after discussions with the brand's management, Wang not only gained the right to sell the ice cream but also opened the first physical EIS Engelchen store all the way away in China.
Wang believes that starting a business begins with something small and is a step-by-step process.“When I was in primary school, I sold products like cookies made by myself among students,” Wang said. “I think business is about noticing problems around you and working out ways to solve them.”

“Who are you ” asked two men to a third person who had just interrupted their conversation onstage. “I am a national treasure,” he replied with pride and a smile. “A‘national treasure’ You are... Fu Bao, or Huahua ” they responded uncertainly.
That drew a sound of laughing from the audience, for Fu Bao and Huahua are two famous giant pandas, whose photos and videos have become an Internet hit.
The dialogue was even funnier because it was inserted (插入) into a play about ancient history titled Joyful Songs in Flourishing Age, recently presented at the National Museum of China. The play's creators said they added in bits of contemporary culture to make it lively and get it across to today's audiences. The primary inspiration for the performance also was a figure of fun —— an ancient pottery(陶器) statue of a comedian beating a drum. The 56-centimeter-tall statue is characterized by his wide smile and a lively position —— he holds a flat drum with one arm and a drumstick in the opposite hand, and he raises a leg in a noticeable movement.
The museum's purpose in hosting the play was to cooperate with other cultural and educational institutions to bring old cultural objects to life. The show was meant to help more people learn not only about the clay figure itself, but also about ancient Chinese art and culture. “The music and many other kinds of Baixi performing arts have been put into the plot.”
Yang, a professor at the Communication University of China, says producing the play inspired great creativity among her cooperators and the production was an exploratory effort of the museum to bring about the various presentation of their collections. While they asked for help from researchers at the National Museum of China for historical details, they also added elements of imagination and, especially, pop culture, such as rap and the giant panda fever, to enrich the dialogue and singing and to help people relate to the show.
28. What does the underlined word“hit” in Paragraph 2 refer to
A. Popular content. B. Digital attack. C. Software update. D. Personal opinion.
29. What is the function of the dialogue in the play
A. Attracting more younger audiences.
B. Making the play easier to understand for audiences.
C. Conducting a simpler discussion between the characters.
D. Achieving a deeper conversation between the audience and the play.
30. Why did the museum host the play
A. To educate people about the significance of the ancient clay.
B. To arouse people's awareness of protecting traditional culture.
C. To praise the creativity of other cultural and educational institutions.
D. To combine various kinds of art to keep ancient art and culture alive.
31. What does Professor Yang think of the show
A. It gets a museum famous again. B. It is a popular talent play.
C. It results from a creative exploration. D. It is short of imaginative ideas.

Given the ability of AI to imitate humans’ problem-solving ability, it’ s not surprising that many people are turning to AI-powered fitness coaches to help them plan exercise routines, track their nutrition and set goals for losing weight.
Sridhar Narayanan, a professor of marketing at Stanford Graduate School of Business, said, “I am interested in weight loss apps. They are less costly than hiring human coaches. By tapping into users’ private health data like goal setting and food intake logs, AI can give guidance to users. However,I am not sure about their effects. Given that weight loss journeys may bring emotions like shame, anxiety and frustration, can technology be as effective as a live person in helping customers in this aspect ”
To find out more, Narayanan compared data from customers who only used weight loss apps with those who used AI paired with human coaches. He found that on average, people using weight loss apps lost about 1.5% of their starting body weight, compared to 2.7% for those with AI-plus human plans.
“To explain the result, I also looked into the users. Customers who picked human coaching tended to set higher weight loss goals and logged their weight and food intake more frequently. Customers may also feel more responsible for their actions when being supervised (监督) by a live person. It takes more efforts and courage to cancel a training session than to ignore an AI-generated notification on your phone. Being firm and tough may be more effective than offering emotional comforts in terms of being a fitness coach,” Narayanan said.
More research into human coaching versus AI is likely on the horizon. Next, Narayanan will focus on app users who are tracking and getting coaching for serious health issues like diabetes (糖尿病).Finding a way to measure how effectively technology helps customers deal with their overall health could make AI-driven health monitoring more valuable for the tech industry. People are paying more attention to their health and experts in fitness training are rare and lacking. The demand for AI coaching is growing and every technology company is trying very hard to cut a slice of the cake.
32. According to Paragraph 2, what did Narayanan think of weight loss apps
A. They are more expensive. B. They lack emotional comfort.
C. They may give wrong guidance. D. They may give away private information.
33. Why are AI-plus-human plans effective
A. Human coaches can offer advice on users’ diet.
B. Human coaches can help users set achievable goals.
C. Human coaches are more responsible for users' plans.
D. Human coaches can provide strict guidance and supervision.
34. What can we learn about the market of AI coaching in the last paragraph
A. AI coaching is less effective than human coaching for serious health conditions.
B. Tech companies will be quite interested in expanding their presence in the market.
C. The demand for AI coaching is declining as fitness experts become more available.
D. Measuring technology's impact on health is unnecessary for tech industry's success.
35. What is the best title for the text
A. Technology can monitor human health
B. AI-powered apps can help you lose weight
C. Al-powered fitness coaches have become popular
D. Combining human and Al-powered coaching works better

Chinese Spring Festival and Me
As we all know, the Chinese Spring Festival, which falls on the first day of the first lunar month, is a highly significant festival in China. It represents the essence of Chinese culture and values. It is a time when all family members, no matter how far apart they are usually, will come back home to reunite.
I have an unforgettable Spring Festival memory. One year, we went back to our hometown. The small village was bustling with the festival atmosphere. Red lanterns were hung everywhere. My grandparents prepared a sumptuous dinner. After dinner, we children set off fireworks together. The sky was filled with beautiful colors and the sound of laughter filled the air. It was a simple yet extremely happy time, and I truly felt the strong bond within the family.
The Spring Festival is not just a festival for us to celebrate but a precious cultural heritage. We should actively inherit it from generation to generation. Only in this way can we ensure that this wonderful traditional festival will always be alive and continue to thrive in the long run.
