On March 6, the 2024 Douyin E-commerce Female Consumer Trend Data Report revealed that in 2023 the order volume of horse faced skirts -a type of hanfu, the traditional style of clothing worn by the Han people-among female users on Douyin skyrocketed by 841 percent compared to the previous year.
"I've noticed that there are so many people wearing horse-faced skirts on the streets now, from young women to children; it's unbelievable," said Wang Zicheng, a 23-year-old hanfu enthusiast.
He recalled that when he wore hanfu for the first time in 2018 at his coming-of-age ceremony, it was still a minority interest. Now, he is confident wearing it everywhere, even outside of China.
As hanfu gains popularity, traditional attire (服装) and modern fashion are merging (融合), influencing not only clothing styles but also cultural perceptions and people's understanding.
Some hanfu enthusiasts argue that each design and structural form of hanfu carries distinct historical and cultural significance, insisting that these details should be adhered to (遵循) strictly. However, other consumers prioritize the aesthetics (美学) and comfort of the clothing.
Zhou Shuang, 37, specializes in character styling for film and television. She pointed out that for those unfamiliar with traditional clothing culture, it's understandable for them to desire a mixture of classical elegance with modern fashion.
This combination is referred to as the neo-Chinese style. "Neo-Chinese style clothing design doesn't merely layer traditional elements, but combines modernity and tradition naturally," explained Zhou. "It aims to showcase traditional charm that resonates with (与……产生共鸣) the aesthetic preferences of today's Chinese. "
Despite the growing hanfu trend in China, there remains a lack of understanding among people abroad. According to Wang, he traveled to a dozen countries while wearing hanfu.
"They guessed about the origin of my clothes…, but none correctly identified that it's from China," Wang said. He believed this is because people in other countries have few chances to see authentic hanfu clothes and accessories.
A potential solution could be integrating hanfu into everyday attire. Indeed, Zhou's students are currently exploring ways to preserve hanfu's cultural heritage while accommodating the demands of daily fashion choices.
24. What does Wang Zicheng's experience detailed in paragraphs 2-3 reflect
A. The diversity of hanfu enthusiasts.
B. The cultural significance of hanfu.
C. The reasons for hanfu's popularity.
D. The increasing recognition of hanfu.
25. According to Wang, why was his hanfu not correctly identified when he was traveling
A. His hanfu did not represent a typical style.
B. Western tourists show little interest in hanfu.
C. People abroad were unfamiliar with hanfu culture.
D. Hanfu has mixed clothing styles from other countries.
26. What are Zhou's students doing now
A. Cooperating with daily fashion designers.
B. Protecting traditional hanfu in a modern way.
C. Promoting traditional Chinese clothing abroad.
D. Studying the historical evolution of the hanfu style.
27. What is the best title for the passage
A. Hanfu: Reshaping Modern Fashion
B. Ancient Fashion: The Forgotten Beauty of Hanfu
C. Hanfu: An Evolutionary Journey Through Centuries
D. Hanfu vs. Modern Fashion: A Symbol of Chinese Nationalism
C
When I was a graduate student, my co-workers and I were wondering how losing one night of sleep affects a person's ability to manage their emotions.
Once a week, typically on Friday evening, we would stay up all night to monitor our participants and ensure they followed the experimental plan. At about noon the next day, we would all go out of the lab, worn out and eager to get home and rest.
Two months into the experiment, I was in my car at a traffic light when a silly love song started playing on the radio. Suddenly, I cried uncontrollably. I remember feeling surprised at my reaction. It then hit me that I was not just studying sleep deprivation (睡眠剥夺)—I had become part of the study. Weeks of missed sleep had caused harm, and I was no longer in control of my emotions.
That research project proved a strong connection between good sleep and emotional health. In healthy individuals, good-quality sleep is linked with a more positive mood—and it takes just one night of sleep deprivation to cause anxiety and depression the following morning. Moreover, people who suffer from long-term sleep deprivation tend to experience daily events more negatively.
For decades researchers and medical professionals have considered sleep loss a by-product or symptom(症状) of depression or anxiety. In other words, first comes the anxiety, and then sleep loss. Today we know that this order can be reversed. Much evidence shows that people who suffer from insomnia(失眠症) are at least twice as likely to develop depression or anxiety later in life, compared with individuals who sleep well.
Stepping back, we can find that mental and emotional health rely on a delicate balance. A single sleepless night can therefore do damage. The science of sleep and mental health suggests that failing to address the problems that prevent people from getting enough rest will leave people easily hurt in mind.
28.What is the author's research mainly about
A. Factors that affect emotions. B. The damage of sleep deprivation.
C. Ways to improve mental health. D. The link between sleep and emotions.
29.How was the research conducted
A. By referring to previous research. B. By making researchers the subjects.
C. By doing experiments on participants. D. By including music in the process.
30.Why did the author burst into tears
A. The love song was so touching. B. The research was too stressful.
C. She missed her family too much. D. She was severely lacking in sleep.
31.Which word can replace the underlined word "reversed" in paragraph 5
A. Disclosed. B. Switched. C. Identified. D. Arranged.
D
A distant world is being stretched by the gravity of its neighbouring planets and stars to extremes never seen before in a rocky planet. The distortion (扭曲) is so strong that its surface probably is transformed into liquid and so hot that it glows.
Stephen Kane at the University of California, Riverside, and his colleagues spotted this planet in a system already known to have one larger world, a giant planet circling the star once every 55 days or so. The star, called HD 104067, is about 66 light years from Earth.
The researchers found a second planet, a Uranus-mass world orbiting(沿轨道运行) the star every 14 days or so, using a technique called the radial velocity(径向速度) method, in which the gravitation of a planet on its star produces typical swings in the star's light. Then, they spotted a possible third planet, this one only about 30% larger than Earth, by looking for drops in the star's light as the planet passed between it and our telescopes. These drops showed that the third planet, TOI-6713.01, takes only about 2.2 Earth days to circle the star.
The two larger planets seem to have relatively eccentric(离心的)orbits, following egg-shaped paths that move in close to the star and then go smoothly and slowly to the outer reaches of the stellar system. The gravitation of these worlds drags the smaller rocky planet into an eccentric orbit too, fighting with the pull of the star.
This combination of the gravity from the outer planets and the star creates what Kane describes as a "perfect tidal storm", pulling on the inner world, stretching it like clay. Bending of the planet's internal structures as it changes shape then produces extraordinary amounts of heat. "The temperature of this planet is hotter than some stars," says Kane.
Kane continued, "If we can determine the planet's mass, it should uncover its geology, shape and surface conditions, which is the focus of our future research."
32.What is the function of Paragraph 1
A. To attract readers. B. To support an idea.
C. To introduce the topic. D. To bring up backgrounds.
33.What can we learn about the three planets
A. The first planet orbits the star HD 104067.
B. The second planet circles the star every 55 days.
C. The two larger planets are dragged by the smaller one.
D. The third planet is discovered with the radial velocity method.
34.What causes the "perfect tidal storm"
A. The pull from the inner world of the star.
B. The heat produced by the stretching of planets.
C. The gravitation from the outer planets and the star.
D. The bending shape of the planet's internal structures.
35.Which aspect of the planet will Kane's study focus on
A. Its geology. B. Its mass. C. Its shape. D. Its temperature.

It was the summer of 1979, and I was 29 years old. Laurie, my wife, and I were excited to spend two weeks exploring Spain. Our adventures led us to a city called Tétouan in Morocco. We were talking in the marketplace when I saw her.
She was about 20 feet from us, lying flat on her stomach, pulling herself across the streets. Her hands were dirty and bloodied, covered with cuts and open blisters. I looked at her feet, which were limp(无力的) and torn. Her legs dragged behind her body as she clawed her way, inch by inch, to the edge of the street. It took me a few seconds to fully grasp this woman's misery. People were spilling around her as she kept her limbs close, trying to avoid being trampled(踩踏). She was almost invisible to everyone around her. The crowd was sweeping us down the street, little bothered by the woman's situation, so we stepped back against a nearby wall. Is anybody going to do anything about this I wondered. Is everybody just going to ignore her
"We have to do something," I said to Laurie, trying to keep my voice low so as not to draw the attention of the people hurrying by. She nodded, obviously thinking the same thing. We looked up and down the street, searching for something to buy her, anything with wheels. But before we could figure out a way to help her, she was gone. The woman had vanished into the crowd.
We returned home. I continued working as a biomedical engineer, focused on raising my daughters and building my company, but the memory of that woman stuck with me.
Many years later, as I walked through our living room past an old wheelchair I had collected a few years before, I suddenly stopped dead in my tracks.

I imagine many of you get around six hours of sleep a night. You might stay up late watching TV, playing video games, or just browsing (浏览) your phone. What I'd suggest is setting an alarm an hour before you go to bed. That alarm is to remind you to stop looking at electronic screens. They produce blue light, which can prevent you from going to sleep. (19) I would also suggest not eating or drinking anything two hours before bedtime. If you are restless, a glass of milk can help to settle you, but no tea or coffee, as they will keep you awake. Lastly, start your day on a positive note with half an hour of exercise. It may not seem like a lot, but over time it will dramatically improve your health. Now, if you have any questions, just type them on the screen. (20)

第二节
答案:
My thoughts flew back to the woman in the market place. How many people are there just like her in the world I wondered if there's a way to make a wheelchair look more like a living room chair, only with wheels. (心理描写) I began sketching out designs for a sample that would be durable yet lightweight, easy to produce, and affordable to transport. Several materials crossed my mind: steel, metal, and plastic. But for the longest time, I was stuck. We were approaching the end of lawn furniture when the answer suddenly came. The white resin lawn chair.
Two decades later, we set up a nonprofit free wheelchair company, inspired by the white resin (树脂) lawn chair. We were on a mission to make sure everyone who needed a wheelchair had one. And we wanted to give our wheelchairs away for free. There was never a desire to sell them, even inexpensively. Our company has given away wheelchairs to over 1.3 million people living in 94 countries across five continents. (动作描写) But our work is far from over. It transforms not only the lives of people living with disabilities but also their families. I share my journey to encourage you to find purpose in your own journey by helping others in need.
