学情分析 八年级下学期的学生，已经熟练掌握形容词、副词比较级和最高级的用法，具备这节课需要的语言基础。本节课是听说课，内容是关于使用比较级和最高级比较熊猫和大象等，对学生来说具有极强的好奇心，再借助多媒体工具的辅助，更有利于了解国宝大熊猫及其它动物,学会保护野生动物。
单元教 学目标 本单元的主题属于“人与自我”范畴。话题取材于课标中谈论地理与自然。本单元教材以“介绍地理及自然景观”为中心话题，Section A部分主要围绕地理至少展开，集中呈现了大数字的读法和表示度量的结构，进一步拓展了比较级和最高级的使用。学生需要大量的口语练习对比，才能把握目标语言并熟练应用；Section B 在A部分的基础上,对自然和文化的比较过度到了动物这一话题.本部分呈现了大象/熊猫以及熊猫基地的相关内容,拓展学习更多表示比较的句式，比如多倍数的表达，通过听、说、读、写等活动，引导学生学习更多表达比较的句式结构，了解大熊猫等濒危动物，培养动物保护意识。这一部分重点是在阅读中运用寻读策略，快速查询每个数字所表达的意义。难点是教会学生罗列事实及数据，初步学习说明文的写作。
课时教 学内容 本节课是Section B第一课时，是一节听说。la-le部分一方面巩固含有数字的事实描述，另一方面也拓展学习更多表示比较的句式，如多倍数的表达等。活动1a通过过呈现大象和熊猫的信息，引导学生用比较句型将两种动物进行比较，为后面的听力做铺垫。1b-1c的听力内容主要是围绕熊猫宝宝的描述，进一步学习度量的表达。1c d是听力活动的延续，让学生将听到的信息用对话的形式进行输出。
