It was a very sunny Saturday, and the zoo was crowded with families. Harry Potter’s uncle and aunt bought their son Dudley a large chocolate ice-cream for his birthday. Harry Potter didn’t get it, and no one remembers his 11th birthday was also coming soon.
After lunch they went to the reptile(爬行动物) house. It was cool and dark in here, with glass windows all along the walls. All kinds of lizards(蜥蜴) and snakes were behind the glass window. Dudley quickly found the largest snakes there. It was sleeping now. Dudley stood with his nose pressed against the glass staring at the snake. Dudley ordered his father to make the snake move, but the snake just took his sleep.
“This is boring.” Dudley said. He went away quickly.
Harry potter moved in front of the window and looked at the snake. He wouldn’t be surprised if the snake had died of boredom—since it had no friends except stupid people trying to disturb it all day long. The snake suddenly opened its big eyes. Slowly, very slowly, it raised its head.
It winked(眨眼). Harry Potter was surprised. No one noticed it. He winked, too. The snake gave Harry Potter a look that said quietly: “I get that all the time.” “I know, ” Harry Potter says in a low voice, though he wasn’t sure the snake could hear him. “It must be really annoying.” The snake nodded in agreement.
Then Harry Potter and the snake began to talk...
“DAD! MUM! COME AND LOOK AT THIS SNAKE! YOU WON’T BELIEVE WHAT IT’S DOING!” Dudley jumped towards the snake as fast as he could.
“Out of the way, you!” he cried, pushing Harry Potter away. Caught by surprise, Harry fell hard on the floor, angrily. Next, no one saw how it happened—one second, Dudley was falling through the glass window as if the window was never there! He was so afraid that he cried loudly. The large snake was moving slowly to the gate. As the snake moved past Harry Potter, he heard a low voice said “Brazil, here I come...Thanks, amigo.”
