Which fruit personality are you
In the workplace, we have to be able to deal with people who aren't like us. No one will change for you, so you just have to respect their differences. When identifying personality types, I like to talk in terms of fruit. Nobody is just one fruit, but we all have a preference. And we tend to emphasize our top two, especially under pressure. Here are some fruit personalities and how best to deal with them.

3. Always stand up to them.
4. Watch and learn from them.

3. Talk big picture, avoid details.
Lemon: Concentrated Lemon types love structure and order. They are worriers who like security and predictability. They excel at spotting gaps in a plan. But too many rules can also be frustrating. 1. Show your pace.
2. Listen with respect.
3. Don't surprise them.
4. Respect their need for space.
Banana: Sweet and Gentle Banana types enjoy peace and avoid conflicts. They are kind to react to others' requests. However, when they are too helpful, they can be seen as indecisive(优柔寡断的). 1. Be nice to them.
2. Encourage regular feedback.
3. Create a positive environment.
4. Don't pressure them, motivate.
21. What do people of Mango and Lemon personalities have in common

For one overseas student who has been in China for over a decade, learning the moves and culture associated with Chinese martial arts(武术)has been his most valuable experience.
Souleymane Hima Oumarou, a Nigerien student at Hebei University in Baoding. Hebei Province, first came to the university in 2012 as an undergraduate, not only for an education, but also to achieve his dream of learning the Chinese martial art of kung fu. He became a fan of kung fu after watching movies starring famous martial artists such as Jackie Chan and Jet Li.
During his studies in Baoding, Oumarou joined the university's martial arts association and studied under Duan Shuxing, one of the association's instructors. Following Duan's instructions, Oumarou began to practise basic moves in 2015, including Eight Extremities Fist, or bajiquan, as well as the associated art of tai chi.

While rice and wheat are the two most commonly consumed cereal grains(谷物)worldwide, a study covering more than 100,000 people in northwest China has revealed that choosing rice as a main food may result in a lower risk of obesity.
Researchers from Xi'an Jiaotong University collected data from participants aged 35 to 74 who are residents of five northwestern provincial-level regions. They divided the participants into three groups. The first group eats rice as their main food, consuming it either daily or four to six times per week, while consuming wheat less than four to six times per week. The second group's main food is wheat, and the third group consumes both rice and wheat as their main food, with similar frequency.
Then the researchers compared results and found out that rice preference might be associated with a lower risk of certain obesity types in the population of northwest China. Higher wheat intake was associated with higher risks of excessive body fat and central obesity(stomach fat)in men and central obesity in women, according to the study findings published in the journal Nutrients.
According to the researchers, previous animal studies show that wheat gluten(谷蛋白)promoted weight gain by reducing heat production and energy consumption, while rice protein shows the potential for anti-obesity and triglyceride- lowering(抗肥胖和降低甘油三酯)effects. Meanwhile, rice-based dietary patterns often have more fresh vegetables, meat and fish servings. People with wheat preference in northwest China tend to eat large bowls of noodles with fewer vegetables or less meat, and sometimes even with a large amount of oil.
However, researchers noted that given the vast territory and diverse ethnic groups present in northwest China, further studies might be necessary to fully understand the regional specificity and potential hidden reasons for the observed links.
28. What do you know about the study in northwest China
A. People can eat rice to lose weight.
B. Eating rice will help you live longer.
C. Rice is the perfect choice for people who are fat.
D. Eating rice may reduce people's risk of being fat.
29. How did the researchers figure out the findings of the study
A. By offering examples. B. By referring to some data.
C. By making a comparison. D. By quoting an expert's opinion.
30. What do the previous animal studies show
A. Wheat gluten reduced weight gain by reducing heat and energy
B. Rice protein has the potential to fight obesity and lower triglyceride.
C. People often eat noodles with more fresh vegetables, meat and fish servings.
D. People who prefer wheat in northwest China tend to eat small bowls of noodles.
31. What will the researchers probably do next
A. They will carry out further studies.
B. They will promote rice as the main food.
C. They will change their research methods.
D. They will figure out the number of ethnic groups in China.
D
Deep within the Yukon, one of the most thickly wooded areas of Canada, sits a patch of land that is unlike any other forest on the planet. Instead of a canopy(树冠)of treetops spreading across the horizon, tens of thousands of signposts are placed haphazardly one on top of the other. They are all part of the Signpost Forest, the largest collection of signs from places around the world. According to the latest data, the Signpost Forest in Watson Lake, located about 10 miles north of the US-Canadian border. contains 91,000 signs from spots near and far.
The tradition began during the Alaska Highway Project in 1942, when US soldier Carl K. Lindley spent time in Watson Lake recovering from an injury. A commanding officer asked him to repair and build the directional signposts, and while completing the job, the homesick soldier added a sign that indicated the direction and distance to his hometown: "Danville, Illinois, 2,835 miles." Others followed suit, and the trend caught on. Each year, an average of 1, 000 new signs are being added to the collection. Lindley s original sign has since been lost to time. Fifty years later, in 1992, Lindley and his wife Elinor return to Watson Lake to place a replica, which is still there.
The Signpost Forest takes up a couple of acres, with huge panels snaking through the trees. There are street signs, welcome signs, signatures on dinner plates, and licence plates from around the world. There are also a lot of familial signs; for example, a grandfather will put up a sign and then years later the family will come back and try to find it. A lot of these are personal signs that people make to literally say that they are here. Though the visitor centre has wood and paints on hand to help create a sign, many people choose to bring their own signs, though illegally, by stealing a metal sign from their hometown and nailing it to one of the wood posts. The forest has grown so vast that the visitor centre no longer tries to keep a detailed list of the signs.
32. What is unique about the Signpost Forest
A. It is full of various signs.
B. It has spreading treetops.
C. It is the most thickly forest.
D. It crosses the US-Canadian border.
33. What can we learn about the first sign in the Signpost Forest
A. It remained in the Forest until 1992.
B. It was put up by an American soldier.
C. It was first put on the Alaska Highway.
D. It was brought from Lindley's hometown.
34. Which of the following is closest in meaning to the word "replica" in the second paragraph
A. list. B. trunk. C. copy. D. border.
35. What is the last paragraph mainly about
A. The origins and sizes of the signs.
B. The quantity and variety of the signs.
C. The difficulty of categorizing the signs.
D. The practice of nailing illegal signs to the posts.

Stay connected with those at home.
Stay in touch with your friends and family with international messaging apps, like WhatsApp, or send them postcards as you bounce around from city to city, which will help keep you grounded as you continue your study abroad adventure and help prepare you for your return.

A. Embrace the new culture.

I entered my freshman year of high school with a clear goal: work hard, stick to whatever I could succeed at and graduate with great achievements. I wouldn't waste my time where I didn't perform as strongly. And this belief served me well. My academic awards were high. I was the star player of all the teams I joined. My friends would joke about my pursuit of perfection, but in my eyes, it was the only sure path to success.
In the second term I joined the cross-country running club. When I came to the first practice, I was filled with the desire to make the varsity(校队)team. But as the distance we ran each practice gradually increased from three, to four, to six miles, I realized that no matter how hard I tried, I was one of the slowest on the team. This realization disappointed me. And the pan in the muscles following every practice was unbearable. I wanted to quit! What was the point of putting myself through so much pain and being the slowest racer
Then we had our first cross-country race. When we got off the bus, the sight of the other teams warming up made my hands sweaty. When we started the race, I felt the enormous pressure of expectations sink onto my shoulders. It was a challenging course, consisting of a series of winding hills.
After a while I stopped running and struggled up the last hill. The steps under my feet felt as heavy as thousands of pounds, mirroring the weight of my despair. With other racers passing me, frustration washed over me. I would never win honor for my team. I'd just be letting them down.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;

With every passing second, my ambition fell apart. My team's support encouraged me to move on.

Dear David,
Thrilled to hear about your upcoming studies in China, I express my warm welcome to you.

Looking forward to seeing you.

Li Hu
读后续写Possible Version:
Paragraph 1:
With every passing second, my ambition fell apart. I was certain that I would cross the finish line last, confirming my fears that cross-country was not my sport. As I struggled forward, I felt defeated and ashamed. However, just as I was about to give up, I heard my coach and teammates calling my name and cheering me up in the distance. Their voice reminded me that finishing the race was an achievement in itself, regardless of the position I gained.
Paragraph 2:
My team's support encouraged me to move on. I stopped caring about my performance and ran to the final point with all my might. As I finished, lungs burning and legs aching, I was greeted by applause and smiles from my coach and teammates. Not until then did I realize my worth to the team was determined not only by how fast but by my resolve to persevere. That day, I learned an invaluable lesson: Occasionally, the victory lies not in the medals won but in the battles fought and the spirit with which we are faced.(162w)

For all the new members here tonight, this is the third year that Jason has been with us as the head coach, and we are very lucky to have such an experienced coach at our club. He will continue to lead the teams for training terms and match days. If you want to know the details about your training, you can ask him after the meeting.
