If a fire starts in your home, you may only have two minutes to get out. It’s important to know how to keep yourself and your family safe. One young girl, Shanya Gill, makes an important contribution (贡献) to fire safety.
Shanya Gill is a 13-year-old girl from California, US. In April, 2024, she got a special invitation (邀请). She went to a US fire office to talk about fire safety. Gill made a new fire detector (探测器) and won first place at a science event in 2023.

The 9th Asian Winter Games are coming! They will be held in Harbin, China, from February 7 to 14, 2025. It’s the second time for Harbin to hold this event. The last time was in 1996. Here are some fun facts about the Games.

You can often see ads (广告) for unhealthy food like hamburgers online and on TV. But in the UK, this will soon change.
In September, the UK government (政府) decided to ban (禁止) all online ads for unhealthy food and drinks. On TV, such ads cannot appear before 9 p.m. each day, reported the BBC.
The ban will start in October, 2025. Its goal is to lower childhood obesity (降低儿童肥胖). From 2022 to 2023, over 20% of children aged four to five in England were overweight. They are too fat and heavy. More than 36% of junior high school students had the same health problem. The government believes banning the ads is right. Seeing fewer unhealthy food ads can help children eat more healthily.
