They need to show how __17__ they could
go down into the seven-metre-deep pool that housed the whales and how
long they could stay there.
A.soon
B.far
C.often
D.hard
根据下文“they could go down into the seven-
Beef pizza, please ,” I said politely.
Mrs.Martin handed me the pizza.I took the paper plate( 碟 子 ) so __20__
that the pizza fell out.
A.quietly
B.quickly
C.politely
D.carefully
quietly
根据“I took
the paper plate(碟子) so…that the pizza fell out.”

Sam was worried.The following morning, he
would have art class. It was his favourite class, but there was a __16__.Sam
saw the world differently from everybody else. When he drew, birds had
different-sized wings, and buildings had strange shapes.Every time he
painted a picture, his teachers and classmates would be __17__.
16.A.difference
17.A.encouraged
B.problem
B.relaxed
C.reason
C.satisfied
D.way
D.surprised
根据“It was
his favourite class, but…Sam saw the world differently from everybody
else.”
Sam saw the world differently from everybody else. When he
drew, birds had different-sized wings, and buildings had strange shapes.”
This only caused her to drop farther into the
pool.Just as Susan __21__ hope, she suddenly felt herself being pushed to
the surface.
A.gave away
B.gave in
C.gave out
D.gave up
gave away 泄露;gave in 屈服;gave out 分发;gave up

It was time for the art class.Nervously,
Sam looked at the white piece of paper in front of him.

From that day on, Sam was never __25__ about art class. He knew that
he could paint happiness, no matter what he painted.
A.careful
B.certain
C.happy
D.nervous
careful
“Nervously, Sam looked at the white piece of paper in front of him.”
1.正情感:happy, proud, good 等。
