Dear Mayor,
I’m glad to write this letter to you. I’d like to talk about the environment in our city.
Our city is not as beautiful as before. Environmental problems are becoming more and more serious. The river is dirtier. People are throwing litter into the river or in public places like parks. This is turning beautiful places into ugly ones. Factories are putting waste into the river and they burn coal, which also pollute the air with a lot of black smoke. And most of us ride in cars to school even if they live close to school. I think it is time to play a part in saving the earth.
First of all, we should let more people know the importance of environmental protection. We’re supposed to save water and energy in our daily life. Second,to cut down air pollution, we should ride a bike or walk to school instead of riding in cars. If it’s far, we can take the bus or subway. Third, we shouldn’t throw litter here and there. We should put it in the bins. As for waste pollution, we should never take wooden chopsticks or plastic forks when buying takeaway food. We can also use reusable bags instead of plastic bags. What’s more, the government should close down the factories that are putting waste into the river or giving out a lot of black smoke.
The earth is our home and we have the duty to take care of it for ourselves. So I hope that you can take my advice. Thank you.
