Sports Day was a big success this year! All the students and teachers took part in the sports events. There were ten different events like running, long and high jumps, and ball throwing.
Everyone worked hard and got some good exercise. There were many winners. Kim, from Grade 7, won first place in four events. Tony, from Grade 8, won first place in two events and second place in three events. And Mike, from Grade 9, was the champion in three events. Well done!
I took part in a running event. I ran really hard, but my tail got in the way. So I only got fourth place. I felt a little sad, but then my teammates said, “Good work, Danny. Winning is not everything. It is important to have fun.” They were right! We all had lots of fun!

Well done在口语中通常有两种常用的意思。第一种呢，就是字面上的意思，表示“做得好，干得好”，用来称赞某人在某方面做得好。就像你完成了一项任务或者工作，别人夸你“Well done”，那就是在说你很棒啦！第二种呢，在点餐的时候，特别是吃牛排的时候，如果你喜欢熟一点的口感，就可以跟服务员说“Well done”，意思就是要全熟的牛排哟。
6. I ran really hard, but my tail got in the way.

7. I felt a little sad, but then my teammates said, “Good work, Danny. It is important to have fun.

e.g. Good work, John, you are a big help.
做得不错，约翰， 你帮了大忙了。
(1) “good work 干得好”，通常用于表扬或鼓励他人在某项任务、工作或活动中表现良好。相当于good job，well done等
e.g. It is important to learn English. 学习英语是重要的。
(2) “It is+ adj.+ to do sth.做某事是……的”，其中，“It” 是形式主语，真正的主语是后面的不定式“to do sth.”，形容词用来描述做某事的性质或状态。
(3) have fun 玩得开心=have a good/great time=enjoy oneself
e.g. Let’s have fun/have a good time/enjoy ourselves today!
