Monty Roberts owns a horse ranch in San Francisco. He is willing to help the young who want to pursue their dreams. We were always curious about the reason behind and one day he told us his story.
When Monty was young, he was the son of an itinerant horse trainer who would go from stable to stable, race track to race track, farm to farm and ranch to ranch, training horses. As a result, his high school career was continually interrupted. When he was a senior, he was asked to write a paper about what he wanted to be and do when he grew up.
That night he wrote a seven-page paper describing the goal of owning a horse ranch some day. He wrote about his dream in great detail and he even drew a diagram of a 200-acre ranch, showing the location of all the buildings, the stables and the tracks. Then he drew a detailed floor plan for a 4,000-square-foot house that would sit on a 200-acre dream ranch.
He put a great deal of his heart into the project and the next day he handed it in to the teacher. Two days later he received his paper back. On the front was a large red F with a note that read, "See me after class." The boy with the dream went to see the teacher after class and asked, "Why did I receive an F "
The teacher said, "This is an unrealistic dream for a young boy like you. You have no money. You come from an itinerant family. You have no resources. Owning a horse ranch requires a lot of money. You have to buy the land. You have to pay for the original breeding stock and later you'll have to pay large stud (马群) fees. There's no way you could ever do it." Then the teacher added, "If you rewrite this paper with a more realistic goal, I will reconsider your grade."

写作示范一
The boy went home and thought about it long and hard. He was deeply disappointed by the teacher's words, but his passion for the dream ranch was too strong to be easily extinguished. After much consideration, he decided not to rewrite the paper. Instead, he was determined to prove that his dream was achievable. From that day on, he started working part - time at local stables, learning everything he could about horse - raising and ranch management. He also saved every penny he earned to put towards his future ranch.
Twenty years later, the teacher brought 30 students to camp out on a ranch for a week. To his great surprise, the ranch they were staying at was the very one Monty had described in his paper. When Monty, now the owner of the ranch, greeted them, the teacher was filled with shock and embarrassment. Monty smiled and said, "I told you my dream wasn't unrealistic." The teacher apologized sincerely, and the students were inspired by Monty's story. They realized that as long as they dared to dream and worked hard, they could make their dreams come true.
写作示范二
The boy went home and thought about it long and hard. He tossed and turned in bed all night, the teacher's words echoing in his ears. However, his heart told him that giving up his dream was not an option. The next day, he visited a nearby library, borrowing books on ranch management and real estate. He also began to research different horse - breeding techniques. Whenever he faced difficulties, he would look at the drawing of his dream ranch, which gave him the strength to carry on.
Twenty years later, the teacher brought 30 students to camp out on a ranch for a week. As they drove into the ranch, the teacher recognized the layout immediately. Memories of the young Monty and his "unrealistic" dream came flooding back. When Monty showed up, the teacher could hardly believe his eyes. Monty gave them a warm welcome and a tour of the ranch. During the talk, Monty said, "I never gave up on my dream." The teacher was deeply moved, and the students were eager to pursue their own dreams, knowing that with determination, nothing was impossible.
【答案】
The boy went home and thought about it long and hard. Having noticed the slight difference on Monty, his father accompanied the little boy without any word until he asked in a low voice, "Dad, have you ever changed your dream " Noticing the confusion on the young face, his father said without the least hesitation, "Never, it is my treasure." It suddenly dawned on him that compared with getting F for the paper, he would be more painful if he chose to give up on his dreams. Making up his mind, he took his paper, and headed for the teacher. With determined eyes, Monty said, "I am sorry, teacher. I'd like to keep my dream."
Twenty years later, the teacher brought 30 students to camp out on a ranch for a week. Learning Monty was the rancher, she was numb with astonishment. Wearing obvious guilt, she said to him, "Sorry for what I said at that time." Monty returned her with a smile. "Actually, I should thank you for letting me know what my dream meant to me." When the tour was about to end, the teacher called the students together and said in an emotional voice, "Kids, remember, be brave to pursue your dreams regardless of the realistic conditions." When she finished the words, claps came from behind. It was from Monty. And soon, the students joined him.
