文档简介

阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
I spent almost three years in food service doing everything from washing dishes to working as a service director at a country club, Firstly, I waited tables, and it was actually one of my favorite jobs, mostly because of the people, One thing I learned is doing your job right .and focusing on ensuring that your customers have the best dining experience.
During college, I worked at a place called O’Malleys. It’s not open anymore so I don’t have
to worry about getting anybody in trouble, and besides, this isn’t that kind of story.Every Sunday, these two ladies and a little girl would come in, and nobody wanted to wait on them because they were super cheap and never tipped, so I volunteered, and they became my regulars, I quickly learned that it was a mom, her young daughter, and her mother. They always ordered the same thing. They’d each get water, The two women would split an entree ( 主菜), and the young girl would get something off the child’s menu. And they’d leave no tip. I didn’t really care because Sunday lunch was always busy with the crowd, and their check was so small that even a 20% tip would have been just a few dollars. Besides, they were super nice, and I understood that this was their special time out. Going out just wasn’t something they could do. I did my best to treat them just like everybody else ,which they appreciated.
This went on for over a year, Every Sunday, they would come in their pretty dresses, sit in my section, order the same thing they always did, and not leave me a tip... until one day, they did.
That day, they came in and ordered iced tea and a soda for the girl, I knew something was up. The two ladies each got their own entree nothing share, The little girl got a full order of chicken strips. I’m not sure why I remember exactly what she ordered.

写作示范一
Of course, I asked what the celebration was. The mom's face lit up with a huge smile. "I finally got a well - paying job after months of looking! We're so excited, and we wanted to celebrate with a real meal today," she exclaimed. I was overjoyed for them. I rushed to the kitchen to ensure their food was prepared perfectly, and kept a close eye on their table, making sure they had everything they needed.
The mother said they were moving to Dallas the next week. As she handed me the check, there was a folded bill underneath. When I opened it and saw the $50 bill, my eyes widened in disbelief. "You've always been so kind to us, even when we couldn't tip. This is a small way to say thank you," she said. I was touched beyond words. Watching them leave, I realized that sometimes, the rewards of kindness come in the most unexpected forms.
写作示范二
Of course, I asked what the celebration was. The mother's eyes sparkled with pride as she said, "I've been promoted at work! After all the hard work, it finally paid off. We just had to come here and have a special meal to mark the occasion." I couldn't help but smile along with her. I made sure their dining experience was even more special than usual, suggesting some of the best - selling desserts.
The mother said they were moving to Dallas the next week. She then handed me a tip that was much larger than I ever expected. "You've always made us feel welcome here. This is for you," she said. Holding the money, I felt a deep sense of warmth. It wasn't just about the money; it was about the recognition of my kindness. This experience taught me that kindness is always worth it, no matter how long it takes to be rewarded.
参考范文:
Of course , I asked what the celebration was. I mean, it was obvious this was a special occasion. The mother of the small girl smiled at me and said, “ I just graduated from nursing school. We wanted to come see you one last time and say thank you for making our Sundays so special. It meant so much to us to come in here and be treated like everybody else, even though we could never order very much or leave you a tip.
The mother said they were moving to Dallas the next week. She said, “We won ’t becoming back. I got a job at Major Hospital, and we won ’t see you anymore. ” I smiled and wished them the best of luck, letting them know I ’d miss them. They enjoyed the delicious food happily. When I picked up their check, they had left me a fifty-dollar tip, which was about 150% of their bill. From the story, I see: Don ’t worry about tips because you never know the customer ’s true story. Sometimes the memory is worth more than the money.
