读后续写
阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整故事。
They were going to Fort Lauderdale — three boys and three girls — and when they boarded the bus, they noticed Vingo. He sat in front of them, dressed in a plain, ill-fitting suit, never moving, in complete silence.
Two hours later, the bus pulled into a motel (汽车旅馆), and everybody got off for a break except Vingo. He sat rooted in his seat, and the young began to wander about him, trying to imagine his life. When they went back to the bus, one of the girls sat beside him and introduced herself.
“We’ re going to Florida,” she said brightly. “I hear it’s really beautiful.”
“It is” he said quietly, as if remembering something he had tried to forget.
After a while of chatting, slowly and painfully, he began to tell his story. He had been in prison in New York for the past four years, and now he was going home.
“Are you married ”
“I don’t know.”
“You don’t know ” she said.
“Well, when in prison I wrote to my wife,” he said. “I told her that I was going to be away a longtime, and that if she couldn’t stand it, if the kids kept asking questions, if it hurt her too much, well, she could just forget about me. I told her she didn’t have to write me. And she didn’t. Not for three and a half years.”
“And you’ re going home now, not knowing anything ”
“Yeah,” he said shyly. “Well, last week, when I was sure the parole (假释) was coming through, I wrote to her again. We used to live in Brunswick, and there’s a big oak tree (橡树) just as you come into town, I told her that if she didn’t have a new guy and if she’d take me back, she should put a yellow ribbon (丝带) on the tree, and I’d get off and go home. If she didn’t want me, forget it — no ribbon, and I’d go on through.”
“Wow,” the girl exclaimed.

写作示范
示范一
The moment the teacher called my name to give the speech, my heart raced. Standing on the stage, my hands trembled and my mind went blank. I could hear the whispers in the audience, which only made me more nervous. But then, I remembered all the times I had practiced and the encouragement from my friends. Taking a deep breath, I began to speak. At first, my voice was barely audible, but as I got into the flow, my confidence grew.
When I finished, the audience erupted into applause. I couldn't believe I had done it! I had overcome my fear of public speaking. This experience taught me that with determination and the support of others, I could conquer any obstacle. From that day on, I was no longer the timid person I used to be. I was ready to face new challenges with a brave heart.
示范二
As the storm raged outside, the small boat tossed and turned in the rough sea. I was terrified, thinking that all was lost. My friend, however, remained calm. He encouraged me to hold on and work together to keep the boat afloat. Despite the fear, I followed his lead. We bailed out water, adjusted the sails, and fought against the waves.
Finally, the storm subsided, and the sun peeked through the clouds. We made it to the shore safely. Looking back on that terrifying experience, I realized the importance of friendship and teamwork. It was our mutual support and cooperation that saved us. From then on, I valued my friends more and was always willing to lend a hand when they needed me. I also learned that in the face of difficulties, staying calm and working together can lead us to safety and success.
【答案】范文
She told the others Vingo’s story. Soon all of them were in it, looking at the pictures. Vingo showed them of his wife and three kids. “Not only does my wife make our home warm but she is also devoted to taking care of our children.” Vingo murmured, pointing at the pictures. With 20 miles left from Brunswick, the young people took over window seats on the right side, waiting for the approach of the great oak tree. Vingo stopped looking, tightening his face, as if protecting himself against another disappointment. Nobody uttering a word, the bus was full of silence.
Then suddenly, all of the young people were up out of their seats. “Wow!” they all screamed and shouted and cried, doing small dances except Vingo. He was overcome with extreme anxiety and nervousness, with his legs trembling without control and his face losing color. Subsequently, he was deeply shocked, looking at the oak tree, which was covered with countless yellow ribbons. Memories of his wife and kids living with him flooded back, tears welling up in his eyes. It was not until then that he slowly rose from his seat, making his way to the front of the bus to go home.
