On an early summer day, 35-year-old Du Minghui led a group of 20 children on an enjoyable study tour of the Jiulong Peak nature reserve(保护区), deep in Anhui Province. The reserve, is home to some protected plants and animals. With birds singing, they walked through the forest to detect the secrets and wonders of wildflowers and trees.
The children going on the study tour were mainly primary and middle school students. During the two-day tour, they could not only learn important survival skills in the wild, but also had the chance to watch how infrared(红外线的) cameras were used to take photos of wild animals.
“As a form of nature education, our tours allow children to connect with nature and develop a deep understanding of it by sharing knowledge of the animals and plants in the mountains,” said Du. “During the first three days of June, we expect more children to come here and experience the beauty of nature. ”
The popularity of educational tours has to do with the improved environment in the mountains.
