1.能掌握所读材料的主旨和大意,以及用以说明主旨和大意的事实和细节;
2.既能理解具体的事实,也能理解抽象的概念;
3.既能理解表面意思,也能理解深层含义,包括作者的态度和意图等;
4.能根据短文的有关事实进行推理和判断;
1.掌握材料的主旨大意,以及用以体现主旨大意的事实和细节,即when, where, who, what, why, how等内容,一般可从文章原句中直接查找答案;
2.既能理解表层(词面)含义,也能理解深层含意(包括作者的态度和意图等);有的题目需利用同义词、反义词、构词法和不同句式等手段找出答案;
3.能领悟句、段的意义和它们之间的关系,并能据此进行推理和判断,通常有常识推断、知识判断、计算判断和情节推断;
记叙文中要注意 who(人物)、where(地点)、when(时间)、what(事件)、why(原因);说明文要注意说明的对象、 特征、细节及数字等;议论文要注意作者的观点、论点和论据。

People know animals do have feelings, but they are not sure if these feelings are correctly understood. In recent years, scientists have done research about the feelings of cows, frogs and pandas. __▲__ It says that humans can tell whether a chicken is happy or sad by listening to its calls.
The researchers put a bowl behind a door. Inside the bowl, sometimes, there was something chickens love to eat, such as rice or insects. Sometimes, there was nothing. When the chickens saw food behind the door, they seemed happy and produced fast and loud sounds, known as food calls. When there wasn’t food, the chickens made low and long noises to express disappointment. The researchers recorded all these sounds and studied their waves.
Then the researchers chose 16 recordings of such chicken noises. Half were from the chickens seeing the food and half were from the chickens finding no food. The recordings were played to 194 volunteers. Sixty-nine percent of the volunteers correctly understood whether the chickens were feeling happy or not, and some of them even had no experience of taking care of chickens.
The result shows that humans have the natural ability to understand the feelings of chickens. Hopefully, this finding can bring about new technology to help with chicken-raising, a big industry in many countries. Some scientists are already working on a smart computer program that can identify chickens’ feelings. This is good news for farmers who want to make the birds happier and healthier.

Some animals can easily find their way home after a long journey. How do they make it Scientific research shows that they are born with certain unusual abilities for direction.
A certain kind of ants, for example, can count their steps to avoid getting lost. They can go as far as 110 meters and bring food home. These ants live in the open desert(沙漠), so they have nothing to guide them along the way. It’s like someone walking six kilometers through a dark forest.
Some fish have an unbelievable sense of smell. They can smell even a single drop of their home water in a large sea area. Some sea birds have a similar ability. They are able to make a smell map of their flying area.
Some animals can sense the earth’s magnetic field(磁场), while humans can’t. This magnetic field guides a certain kind of fish when they swim a long way to a place and then back. How can this kind of fish do that It is still a mystery. Scientists have no good answers yet.
However, animals with such unusual abilities still have difficulty dealing with environmental changes caused by human activities. For example, many birds depend on stars for direction, but they get lost easily at night when city lights are kept on all night. To solve this problem, we can simply turn off some lights at night. Clearly, one small act of humans may mean a lot to animals.

Jerry is a world-famous mountain climber. He has climbed many high mountains in the world. Starting in 2015, he and his friends spent two years on an adventure(探险) in South America, covering 7,800 miles. He was even named Adventure of the Year by a famous geography magazine in 2018.
Although Jerry had achieved great success, he didn’t feel fulfilled. He asked himself, “Is it enough to climb the highest mountains Am I doing something helpful How can I turn my adventures into something that can help the world?”
Jerry learned that scientists need plants, rocks and water samples(样本) from the places far away to do research. But scientists can’t get there themselves as such places are hard to reach —only the bravest adventurers can make it. Jerry thought himself could do something to help. He then came up with an idea. He set up a team of top adventurers to collect samples for scientists. By studying the samples, scientists could know more about the earth and find ways to protect it.
Recently Jerry and his adventurer friends have discovered a special plant life on Mountain Qomolangma. The samples they brought back have helped scientists learn how plants live in extreme(极端的) conditions.
For Jerry, this kind of adventure is most satisfying. “Such adventures had made us see life in a different way. Now, being the best climber isn’t important for me. What matters is doing something helpful while climbing the mountains. There is still much more we can do,” Jerry said to a newspaper.

Two years ago, I was sitting in my car waiting in a long line for a toll(通行费) station. When I finally reached the station, the toll station worker told me that the person in front had paid for me and I was free to go. I was so shocked. I didn’t need to save the 5 dollars. I would never know who he was. I was tired by the heavy traffic and the long line, and that behavior was surprising and unbelievable, which really touched my heart. So I decided to pay for the next car waiting in line.
The first time I tried to pay forward the toll, I kept looking into my rear view mirror(后视镜) to see who I’d be paying for. In the mirror, I saw a tired-looking taxi driver. And I felt satisfied that my money would be going to a good place. But before we got to the toll station, the taxi driver had suddenly changed his way and now there was someone else behind me. She looked upset and was gesturing angrily in a conversation with her friend. I wasn’t willing to be paying for a woman like that and was certainly judging her by what I was seeing in the mirror. Anyway, I paid the toll for both of us and left.
Thirty seconds later I was surprised to hear a honk(鸣笛声). It was the woman and her friend waving at me from the other way! She looked cheerful and happy. She wasn’t what I thought she was like. This was a valuable lesson that I shouldn’t judge people so quickly… After all, I don’t know their stories.

(2024陕西西安二模改编)We can find Chinese people growing vegetables crazily, in every corner of the world. When the Chinese move into a house in a foreign country, they always grow vegetables in the garden. Even at the frozen South Pole(南极), there is a “vegetable greenhouse” built up by the members of Zhongshan Scientific Research Station, which truly provides enough vegetables. Why do many Chinese grow vegetables in both daily lives and the virtual world Such love comes from the Chinese history. To fill their stomachs, Chinese people have formed a tradition of hard work. In China’s culture, working hard solves the stomach problem while studying satisfies the hunger for knowledge.

(2023河北真题改编)Progress means the act of going forward. Making any kind of progress can make us healthy and happy in life. By setting and actively working towards our goals, we can make progress in our life.
To make more progress in life, start looking at problems in a different way. Whatever happens, if we think positively, it can be useful and helpful. We need to know that problems are part of our life. After we solve problems one after another, we can make more progress and become stronger.
Having confidence is helpful for us to make progress. Confidence comes from different places, such as proper education, training or having good relationships. We should also stay with people who believe in our success and actively support us. These people can help push us towards progress.
Slow progress is still progress. Just as the old saying goes,“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. ” Progress usually comes a lot more slowly than we expect. Even if progress is slow, try not to be worried. One important thing is that we keep taking steps towards our goals, and another is that we clearly remember what our goals are all the time. The actual speed isn’t important.
The road to progress is not always smooth. Most progress often comes with setbacks along the way. Sometimes, maybe it feels like we’re taking one step forward and three steps back, but it won’t always be like that. Keep going towards our goals and we can much more easily make the progress we want.

Even if you don’t plan to be an inventor or researcher, curiosity can still help you in the classroom. If you develop the curiosity of learning, classes will become more interesting. You will be good at them because you enjoy the process of learning. Even if you’re no longer a student, curiosity will make you an able worker.
What will you do if you’re not already curious Luckily, curiosity is a skill that can be improved. Often, the more you learn about a topic, the more interesting it becomes. To improve your curiosity, get information from as many sources(来源) as possible when you learn about a topic. At the same time, read all kinds of books, watch or listen to speeches and ask questions. Don’t always get information in the same way. Instead, learn to understand the facts that different people know.
Don’t assume you already know everything. Instead,search for other possibilities and opinions. Remember, everyone knows something that you don’t know. Find out what it is, and ask about it. This lets you learn something and makes the other people happy by sharing their knowledge. Let’s try to become people who are full of curiosity.

(2024内蒙古通辽真题改编)On a cold day in winter, a 13-year-old boy, living in Qinghai Province, was heading down a mountaintop with his family. Suddenly, they saw two snow leopards(雪豹) near the Lancang River. “I see them for the first time. They look so cool!” he said.
Since the mid-20th century, the area of snow, grasslands and lakes in Sanjiangyuan has become smaller because of climate change and human activities. Many wild animals in the area have died out. Snow leopards are endangered.
Later, China set up Sanjiangyuan Nature Reserve to better protect the area and the wildlife there. In these years, the number of wild animals has been increasing. More than 70,000 Xizang’s antelopes(羚羊) live there now. And over 1,000 snow leopards can be found in the area. It’s higher than the average number around the world.
The local people have enhanced their understanding about environmental protection and have tried hard to protect the environment in Sanjiangyuan over the years. They still live on selling caterpillar fungus(冬虫夏草) they’ve found in grasslands. In the past, they carried food with them in plastic bags and left the bags and food waste behind. But now the local people have realized they should live together with nature in harmony.
They often pick up waste on the grasslands. People also take their plastic bags and food waste down the mountain after eating. The local environment has taken on a new look. Many young people there said, “We will continue to guard our home and make it more beautiful. ”
