文档简介

阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Walking down the hallway(走廊) at Dryden High School, my heavy backpack made my back ache, while my eyes scanned the new faces all around me, each one a reminder that I was just a small, awkward freshman trying to fit into this new world. Why on earth did they put band class right after lunch Why did they crowd us together when it’s meant to be a time to rest I thought angrily.
As the small, red, half lockers on my left turned into windows, the crowd thinned to the few other students on their way to the band room at the end of the hall. I pushed open the door and stepped into the familiar space, the sounds of warming instruments filling the air.
I quickly made my way to my usual spot on the far side of the half sound-proofed room. As I settled into my seat, I spied a book left open on a music stand. Is that A Song of Ice and Fire I thought excitedly. There’s someone here who reads it too! I had been trying to find a friend since school started a week or two ago, but I hadn’t found anyone I related to. And here was evidence that they had been right in front of me this whole time!
I put my backpack down and went to get a music stand, then I journeyed into the instrument locker room with its horrible white walls, and cage-like lockers to get my instrument. A few other band members were in there too, including a girl who played the saxophone(萨克斯). That is so cool! I thought as I tried not to stare at the massive gold colored horn. I followed the Saxophone girl out of the locker room and went to see who would claim the book, and to my surprise and great joy, she did!

第一段续写
“May I look at your book ” I gathered my courage and asked. She looked up, a bit surprised at first, but then a warm smile spread across her face. “Sure! Are you also a fan of A Song of Ice and Fire ” she replied. I nodded eagerly, sitting down beside her. As we delved into the world of Westeros, we couldn't stop talking. I vividly described how I was blown away by the Red Wedding scene, and she excitedly shared her theories about the true identity of Azor Ahai. Our hands gestured wildly, and our eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. We were so engrossed in the conversation that we didn't even notice the band teacher starting the class.
第二段续写
“I’ve been wanting to start such a book club, too!” I replied with excitement. Her eyes lit up at the suggestion. We immediately set to work. We decided to hold our first meeting in the school library during the next lunch break. In the following days, we made colorful posters and handed out flyers to our classmates. When the big day arrived, about ten students showed up, all with eager expressions. We took turns sharing our favorite books and passages. One student passionately analyzed the symbolism in To Kill a Mockingbird, sparking a deep discussion. By the end of the meeting, everyone was looking forward to the next one, and I felt a strong sense of accomplishment and belonging.

第一段续写
“May I look at your book ” I gathered my courage and asked. She looked up, a bit surprised at first, but then a warm smile spread across her face. “Sure! Are you also a fan of A Song of Ice and Fire ” she replied. I nodded, my voice a bit shaky from nervousness. As we began to talk, I found myself opening up about how I got into the series, and she listened intently. We debated the morality of different characters, with her arguing for the complex nature of Jaime Lannister, while I defended the honorable Ned Stark. We laughed at our different perspectives, and the more we talked, the more comfortable I felt. It was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.
第二段续写
“I’ve been wanting to start such a book club, too!” I replied with excitement. Her eyes lit up at the suggestion. We quickly planned our club. We chose a cozy corner in the school cafeteria for our meetings. We created a reading list that included both classic and contemporary works. When we invited other students, we were overwhelmed by the positive response. At our first meeting, we shared snacks while discussing the chosen book. There were moments of deep silence as we listened to each other's insights, and bursts of laughter when someone made a witty comment. The book club not only brought us closer to the world of literature but also made our high school days more colorful and meaningful.
参考答案
“May I look at your book ” I gathered my courage and asked. She nodded, handing me the book with as mall laugh. “Sure! It’s my favorite series.” she said. I couldn’t believe it. It felt like I had found someone who understood me and shared my love for fantasy and adventure. We started talking about our favorite characters, laughing as we exchanged thoughts. After a while, she glanced at me and said, “You know, I’ve been thinking of starting a A Song of Ice and Firebook club at school. Would you be interested in helping me ” A book club! It was exactly what I needed to break the ice and find more people like me.
“I’ve been wanting to start such a book club, too!” I replied with excitement. Her eyes lit up at my answer, and we quickly began making plans. In just a few days, we had gathered a small group of students who shared our love, and our book club took off. I could hardly believe how much had changed. No longer did I feel like the awkward freshman struggling to fit in; I was now surrounded by friends who shared my interests. Starting the club had not only brought me closer to her but also to other like-minded people. Dryden High no longer felt like a maze; it felt like home.
