Learning Objectives
In this lesson you will:
1. know the usage and the sentence structures of the simple past
tense;
2. know how verbs change to the simple past tense;
3. talk about the past activities using the simple past tense.
Before the class, let me share with you my last weekend activities.
Last Saturday morning, I did some exercise at home to keep fit.
In the afternoon, I visited my grandparents and helped them clean the house.
Last Sunday morning, I went to the market and bought some vegetables and meat.
In the evening, I cooked a simple dinner for my family.
What tense did I use when I introduced my weekend activities
The simple past tense.

过去某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态
表示过去习惯性、经常性的动作

3. 观察下列句子,句中的动词有什么变化?

在一般过去时的句子中,动词要变成一般过去式。
动词的一般过去式
动词的一般过去式有规则变化和不规则变化两种情况。
动词的规则变化
过去式构成有规律,一般在词尾加-ed
动词词尾有个e,加上-d就可以
重读闭一辅结尾,双写辅音加-ed
辅音加y结尾时,变y为i加-ed
口诀
一般情况:在词尾加-ed
talk——talked want——wanted visit——visited
help——helped stay——stayed call——called
以不发音的e结尾的单词:直接加-ed
move——moved live——lived hope——hoped
smile——smiled like——liked use——used
以重读闭音节结尾,末尾只有一个辅音字母的词:双写这个辅音字母,再加-ed
stop——stopped drop——dropped plan——planned
以辅音字母+y结尾的词:把y变i,再加-ed

保持原形不变

肯定句: 主语+was/were+其他

否定句: 主语+wasn’t/weren’t+其他
I wasn’t at home yesterday.
一般疑问句:Was/Were+主语+其他?
肯定的回答:Yes, 主语+was/were.
否定的回答:No, 主语+wasn’t/weren’t.

特殊疑问句:特殊疑问词+was/were+主语+其他?

含有实义动词的一般过去时句型
肯定句: 主语+动词过去式+其他
I went home at 7:00 p.m. yesterday.
否定句: 主语+didn’t+动词原形+其他
I didn’t go home yesterday.
一般疑问句: Did+主语+动词原形+其他?
肯定的回答:Yes, 主语+did.
否定的回答:No, 主语+didn’t.
特殊疑问句:特殊疑问词+did+主语+动词原形+其他?
