1. What’s the matter
What’s the matter 表示“怎么了/出什么事了?”,常用来询问某人患了何种疾病或遇到了什么麻烦,也可说 “What’s wrong ” 或“What’s the matter ”其后可由介词with引出具体询问的对象。

2. I think I sat in the same way for too long without moving.
我觉得我以同样的方式坐太久没移动。
without 介词,意思是“没有,缺乏”。后接名词、代词宾格或v. ing作宾语,其反义词为with。
例:她一句话没有说就离开了房间。
She left the room without saying a word.
拓展:without用于否定句,还可以表示条件,意为“如果没有”,相当于if引导的否定条件句。
We couldn't live without air.=We couldn’t live if there weren't air.如果没有空气,我们就不能活。
3. lie down and rest
lie当“躺”讲时,现在分词是lying,过去式是lay;
当lie “撒谎”讲时,现在分词是lying,过去式是lied。
她正躺在床上呢。
She is lying in bed now.
对不起,我向你撒了谎,以后我不会那样做了。
I'm sorry that I lied to you and I won't do that again.
I'm sorry I didn't tell you the truth and I lied to you.

Will it matter if you don’t have breakfast A short time ago, a test was given in the US. People of different ages, from 12 to 83, were asked to have a test. During the test, these people were given all kinds of breakfasts, and sometimes they got no breakfast at all. Scientists wanted to see how well their bodies worked when they had eaten different kinds of breakfasts.
The results show that if a person eats a right breakfast, he or she will work better than if he or she has no breakfast. If a student has fruit, eggs, bread and milk before going to school, he or she will learn more quickly and listen more carefully in class.
The result is opposite to what some people think. Having no breakfast will not help you lose weight(体重).This is because people become so hungry at noon that they eat too much for lunch. They will put on weight instead of losing it. You will lose more weight if you reduce your other meals.

1.What's the matter 怎么了?
常用来询问对方的病情。还可以用来询问某人发生了什么不愉快的事情;某物出了什么故障。
—What’s the matter, Dad 怎么了,爸爸?
—I have a toothache. I have to see a dentist.我牙疼。我必须去看牙医。
【重点】
1)matter/trouble/problem 为名词,其前加the;wrong 为形容词,其前不加the。
2)“你怎么了?”的常见表达::
① What’s the matter/ trouble/problem (with you)
② What’s wrong (with you)
③ What’s up (with you)
④ What happened (to you)
⑤ Is there anything wrong (with you)
2、 I have a stomachache.我胃痛。
(1) have /h v/ v. 患病
“have+a/an+表示疾病的名词”表示患某种疾病或某个身体部位不适。一般不用于进行时态,have 也可替换为get 或catch。

(2) stomachache /'st m ke k/ n. 胃痛;腹痛
stomachache 由“stomach(胃)+ ache(疼痛)”构成。

【拓展】1)常见的由have 构成的表示身体部位不适的短语有:
have a headache 头疼 have a cold 感冒 have a toothache 牙疼
have a fever 发烧 have a sore throat 喉咙痛 have a cough 咳嗽
2)构词法记单词
“表示身体部位的名词+-ache”常用来表示“……痛”,
类似的表达有:
tooth + ache =toothache(牙痛)
head + ache =headache(头痛)
back + ache =backache (背痛)

3. I think I sat in the same way for too long without moving.
我觉得我以同样的方式坐太久没移动。
without 介词,意思是“没有,缺乏”。后接名词、代词宾格或v. ing作宾语,其反义词为with。
例:她一句话没有说就离开了房间。She left the room ____________________.

without用于否定句,还可以表示条件,意为“如果没有”,相当于if引导的否定条件句。
We couldn't live without air.=We couldn’t live if there weren't air.如果没有空气,我们就不能活。
4. lie down and rest 躺下体息
I'm sorry I didn't tell you the truth and I lied to you. 对不起我没跟你说实话,我撒谎了。
lie当“躺”讲时,现在分词是lying,过去式是 lay; 当lie “撒谎”讲时,现在分词是lying,过去式是lied。
她正躺在床上呢。She is lying in bed now.
对不起,我向你撒了谎,以后我不会那样做了。
I'm sorry that I lied to you and I won't do that again.
