Themed with the brightly coloured bricks, Legoland Florida is the place for the next generation of excitement seekers, home to entry-level roller coasters and kid-friendly attractions. The park’s newest attractions include Pirate River Quest, a scenic boat ride through the former Cypress Garden. While the attractions may focus on younger guests, this is really a park for everyone.
Universal Studios Florida
Inspired by the greatest moments from entertainment history, Universal Studios Florida is a movie and television-themed park that began as an actual working studio. When you think about who’s responsible for a city’s safety, what people come to mind Police officers, firefighters or emergency response teams Would you put your local meteorologist (气象预报员) in this group That’s the career Ashley Ruiz chose, and she’s now the first female chief meteorologist in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Ruiz predicts the weather for her community.
In 2020, a tornado hit Ruiz’s hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee — and, even closer to home, her house. So she said she knew what a lifesaving job this could be.
However, her job isn’t without difficulties. “Hearing people have been injured, like in a big hurricane, is really hard,” she said. “We try our best to predict the weather as best as we can, and we are getting better. But it can always change.”
Ruiz talked about the new and changing weather patterns. She said, “We are absolutely seeing changes in weather, with more intense and more frequent storms, which relate to climate change.” Weather is changing everywhere, as the planet warms. There are more frequent droughts, stronger storms, and increasing temperature changes. This makes predicting the weather difficult.
Ruiz always knew she was interested in weather and how it affected the world. But her path to a career in meteorology wasn’t easy. She said, “I struggled so hard with math and wanted to give up. But I kept pushing and working hard, and now I’m the first woman chief meteorologist in the Baton Rouge TV market. I’m proud of that.” She wants kids to know they should never give up on their education or their dreams.

C. To offer a successful example of weather forecast.
D. To show Ruiz’s understanding of the work of a meteorologist.

A. Sports. B. People. C. Education. D. Health.

People who have trouble walking often have a hard time enjoying the beach. But hundreds of beaches in Greece now offer a new way for people in wheelchairs to get into the water by themselves. It’s called Seatrac.
Seatrac is basically a chair on a moving ramp (轻便梯) that can smoothly carry a disabled person into the sea. Once in the sea, the person can either remain in the chair, enjoying the water or go for a swim. The Seatrac system can also help anyone else who has a hard time walking, including older people and pregnant women.
Seatrac was invented and developed in Greece. The idea for it came when one of the inventors, Ignatios Fotiou, was talking with a friend who used a wheelchair. The friend said he enjoyed the sea, but didn’t like having to be carried into the ocean as if he were a sack (袋) of potatoes.
Mr. Fotiou realized that there must be a way to make it easier for wheelchair users to get into the water. Mr. Fotiou worked with his partner and a professor at a Greek university to design the system. In time, they formed a company called TOBEA to build and sell it.
The company worked hard to make the system simple to put in place and easy to run. A wooden walkway allows wheelchair users to reach the Seatrac. The system is solar-powered. It doesn’t require outside power and can continue to run even if the electricity goes out. The Seatrac system can easily be packed up and stored when the swimming season ends.
This summer, the Seatrac system is being used at over 220 beaches in Greece, Cyprus, Italy and Latvia. TOBEA hopes to offer Seatrac in other countries soon.
The Seatrac service in Greece is being offered for free. The Greek government has helped pay for it, with local cities buying and managing the equipment. Greece’s government hopes that Seatrac will help attract more tourists to the country.
8. Who is Seatrac designed for
A. Older people who move freely.
B. Youths who like to swim in the sea.
C. Women who enjoy beach baths with their children.
D. People who have trouble moving around on the beach.
9. What does the underlined word “it” in paragraph 4 refer to
A. The system. B. Potato. C. Ramp. D. Normal wheelchair.
10. What can we learn about the Seatrac system
A. It’s not easy to operate.
B. Users don’t have to worry about charging it.
C. People need to have a big cost to use it in Greece.
D. It has been available at more than one thousand beaches.
11. Why does the Greek government help pay for the Seatrac service
A. To improve the government’s image.
B. To promote the development of tourism.
C. To set up an organization for the disabled.
D. To support small and medium-sized local companies.

Ever since I can remember, I have always enjoyed making myself and others laugh. Humor has always played an important role in my life as it was key in helping me develop my personality and outlook on life through childhood.
What I did not realize, however, was why or how it made me feel better about myself. I wanted to find out just exactly how humor affects us in our lives, and whether or not it played a key role in having a longer and more enjoyable life.
From my research, I found many different ways that humor can influence our emotions and physical health. These benefits are split into two different sections: short-term and long-term.
One example of the short-term benefits of humor would be that laughter induces relaxation. It gets many muscles moving in your body. One reason why muscles get tense is lack of oxygen flow. Once you laugh as a response to humor, it increases the flow of oxygen to the muscles, resulting in a more relaxed and more energy-filled body. Another short-term benefit is that laughter causes pain relief. This is achieved by intense stimulation of organs in the body, which leads to increased circulation and blood flow.
As for the long-term effects they can be just as rewarding. For example, one thing laughter can do in the long run is improve the overall health of the heart. This happens because, like stated earlier, laughter increases blood flow. Since the heart is the organ that regulates all blood flow in the body, naturally the heart becomes strengthened. One last long-term benefit from humor is that it can reduce stress levels and boost the immune system.
12. What benefit of humor does the author mention in the first paragraph
A. It lets the author make more friends.
B. It keeps the author physically healthy.
C. It helps to shape the author’s character.
D It frees the author from any stress.
13. What does the underlined word “induces” in Paragraph 4 mean
A. Skips. B. Decreases. C. Needs. D. Causes.
14 How does the author show the long-term benefits of humor
A By telling stories. B. By giving examples.
C. By listing numbers. D. By making comparisons.
15. What is the best title for the text
A. Health Benefits of Humor
B. Stories About Laughter
C. Success Brought by Humor
D. Humor in Daily Life

When I was a kid, my parents and I lived near the forest. They often told me that our family was a team that needed to work together for the household to function smoothly. There was always an abundance of work to do — cooking, cleaning, and walking dogs. I volunteered to walk our dog, Max, who had been adopted one month before. I never dared let this giant dog off the lead (牵狗绳), just in case he took off.
One morning, we were walking along in the forest when Max started pulling on the lead. At first, I was able to hold on despite the wet ground from a recent shower. But the more I tried to stop him pulling, the more it turned into a tug of war. And thanks to the slippery ground, I lost.
Pulling his lead, Max shot off like a bullet, leaving me screaming behind. I chased him but lost my footing and fell face-first into some mud. I stumbled (踉跄) to my feet, but looking ahead, I found him running back towards me. I thought he was going to stop and give me his “Sorry” look. But instead, the dog shot past me and returned after a while.
As soon as we got home, my mother immediately attended to Max with a warm towel and a doggy treat. I thought seeing me stumbling and covered in mud, I would also get a warm cup of tea and a motherly kiss. Instead, I got a very loud lecture about letting the dog loose in the forest.
I felt frustrated. It wasn’t fair that she didn’t understand how difficult it was to control Max. I fought back, “Stop lecturing me! Why is everything my fault ” With these words, I stormed into my bedroom and slammed the door shut.
In the evening, I heard my mother call Max and take him out. It wasn’t long before I heard my mother screaming and the door opening again.

【47题答案】
【答案】范文
I walked out of my room. Not surprisingly, they were both covered in mud. It was evident that Max had led my mother on another wild chase through the forest. My frustration melted away as I saw my mother’s apologetic expression. “Sweetheart,” my mom said softly, “I’m sorry for scolding you earlier.” After a quick shower, she then shared her own adventure with Max and how he also managed to escape from her grasp, when I served her a warm cup of tea. It seemed we were both at our wits’ end with this dog. (89 words)
Dad stepped in, suggesting that we work together to train Max. We spent the next few days teaching Max basic commands like “sit”, “stay”, and “come back”. It wasn’t easy, but gradually, Max started responding better to us. The instant we tried to stop him pulling, he sat down with eyes looking intently at us. In the process, not only did Max become more obedient, but our family also grew closer. We realized that every member of our team played an important role, and we needed to support each other to ensure everything ran smoothly. (84 words)
