Ally and I first met at a local riding club, where we were both eager beginners, learning the basics of horseback riding. Our friendship quickly developed as we discovered our shared passion for horses and the excitement of riding a horse across open fields. We spent countless hours together, talking about everything under the sun as we watched the horses playing happily and lively.
Ally was very passionate about riding, and it was a joy to share that enthusiasm with her. However, being someone who set high standards for myself and those I cared about, I sometimes found myself pushing her to improve her skills, even if it meant being a bit demanding.
One sunny afternoon, during a particularly challenging riding exercise, I suggested a technique that involved a tight turn and a quick jump over a low fence.
"That's too risky," Ally protested, biting her lips inconcern.“I'm not ready for that yet.”
"Come on, Ally," I urged, tapping my foot impatiently. "You've got to push yourself if you want to get better.”
Our voices rose, and soon we were locked in a heated discussion, and even our horses sensed the tension and becamne restless. Finally, we both accepted that we had different points of view and decided to leave it at that. But the leftover tension caused a slight but noticeable gap between us.
One evening after that argument, as I was helping my parents close up the store, my phone rang. It was Ally. I picked up the phone, my heart still heavy from our earlier disagreement.
“Hey,”she began, her voice full of hope. "I was thinking we could try that technique again. I feel like I'm ready now."
I shook my head even though she couldn't see me. "I don't think that's a good idea," I replied, my tone firm.
She paused, and I could almost hear her disappointment. “Okay," she said softly. "I'll see you then.”注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
The next afternoon, I received a call from Ally's mother.
I rushed to the hospital and found Ally with a cast(石膏)on her leg.
1. 第一段中Ally妈妈电话没有提及女儿受伤,而是关于其他话题,比如问“我”为什么没有和Ally一起去骑马。这样写的同学后续都编了第二个情节来衔接下一段,比如Ally妈妈再次打电话描述Ally骑马受伤,因为篇幅有限,所以一笔带过了这部分最重要的内容;
2. 第一段中Ally妈妈打电话责备Ally为什么和自己的女儿争执,导致女儿受伤,并说出很多伤人的话,这是不符合上文描述的,文章没有铺垫过妈妈的这种不讲道理推脱责任的性格,并且,这么做也是不合适的(毕竟女儿自己尝试危险动作而导致受伤,不能将责任都推到女儿朋友身上),这里妈妈打电话是因为知道我们是好朋友,所以告知一下情况,而非兴师问罪;
The next afternoon, I received a call from Ally’s mother. Her voice was trembling as she told me that Ally had been in an accident while riding. “She tried that technique you mentioned,” she said quietly. “ She fell and broke her leg. ” On hearing this, I felt a wave of guilt washing over me. “ I’m so sorry to hear that,” I stammered, my voice cracking. “ I never meant for her to get hurt. ” I realized I should have been more supportive and patient, understanding that everyone has their own pace in learning. This realization weighed heavily on me, and I knew I needed to make up for it.
I rushed to the hospital and found Ally with a cast on her leg. As I sat beside her, I apologized sincerely for my behavior. “I’m so sorry, Ally,” I said, tears welling up in my eyes. “I should never have pushed you so hard. Your safety is more important than any riding achievement. ” Ally smiled weakly, forgiving me with a reassuring look. We chatted joyfully, talking about the importance of listening to each other and respecting our limits. From that moment, I promised to be a better friend, one who supports and encourages her without being overly demanding. Our friendship, though tested, became stronger through mutual understanding and forgiveness.
