真题典例:(2021年新高考卷II)“Some people believe that school uniforms can create a sense of unity among students. It makes students feel like they belong to a group and reduces the differences between them. However, others argue that uniforms limit students' ___ to express their individuality.”
选项:A. ability B. right C. chance D. courage
真题典例:(2020年全国卷II)“Social media has undoubtedly made it easier for people to stay connected with friends and family. However, it also has the potential to ___ real-life relationships. For example, people may spend so much time on their phones that they neglect the people around them.”
选项:A. build B. harm C. change D. replace
分析:“harm”常见的意思是“伤害,损害”,在这里,根据后文“people may spend so much time on their phones that they neglect the people around them”(人们可能花太多时间在手机上以至于忽视了身边的人)可知,社交媒体对现实生活中的人际关系是有负面影响的,“harm”在此处取“损害”的意思,符合语境。

(2025·辽宁抚顺·二模)I have been living in the Netherlands since my graduation. When walking my dog, I often go to a nearby public park where dogs are 91 to be off-leash (不拴绳的), but it is not a dog park. My pet dog, Maggie, less than a year old, happens to belong to a breed that is often mistakenly 92 as the hated “pit bull” by many 93 people.
Several days ago, a random man called the 94 , reporting that Maggie was aggressive (富于攻击性的) and 95 other dogs in the park. It just so happened that Maggie made 96 with a group of crows in the park. Maggie would 97 play around with them, and they would follow her on our 98 . When the police showed up to question me about the report, she was playing with her crow friends. They saw Maggie 99 crows and saw her “catch” one by touching it with her nose and then turn around to 100 with that crow chasing her in return. It was so 101 that she was playing and not using her teeth to bite the 102 at all.
The policemen told me it was the first time they had ever 103 such a thing that a dog played with crows like that. They could definitely tell that the man made a 104 report. Whether they were aware of it or not, the crows potentially saved Maggie’s life. What an unforgettable 105 and it reminded me not to draw conclusions based on appearances or prejudices, but rather to make fair judgments through actual observation and understanding.
