英语动词中,有的动词后要接名词或代词等作宾语,有的可以单独作谓语,而有的则要接形容词或名词等作主语的补充成分。我们把后面接主语补充成分的动词称为系动词。系动词不能单独使用作谓语,必须与主语一起构成系表结构。系动词主要有以下几种分类:
1.状态系动词:be(am, is,are,was, were)主要用于表示主语的特征,状态和身份。
He is a teacher.
他是一名老师。
He was busy.
他当时很忙。

2.持续系动词:keep,remain, stay
表示人或食物的状态保持一致,没有发生变化,意为“保持”。
She always keeps silent at the meeting.
她开会时总是保持沉默。
Her rooms remains clean and tidy.
她的房间一直保持干净整洁的状态。
3.表象系动词:look, seem,appear 意为“似乎,好像”
He looks very tired.
他看起来好像很累。

4. 感官系动词:feel, smell, sound, taste 表示感官感受。
Silk feels smooth.
丝绸摸起来很有光泽。
The milk smells sour.
牛奶闻起来有股馊味儿。
5.变化系动词:become, grow, turn, fall, get, go
He becomes excited before the match.
他在比赛前变得很兴奋。
Lisa turned red. 丽萨的脸红了。
