【教学主题】
It must belong to Carla.
【教学内容及分析】
本节是初中初中英语九年级上册第八单元第一课时的内容。本课时主要是围绕“推测物品的归属”展开,并进一步引入“神秘事件”这一话题,集中呈现与学习表示推断的相关词汇。本部分还复习了与话题有关的物品名词、表达观点的动词等。本单元的功能结构是情态动词表示推断。
【教学对象及特点】
授课班级为初三同学,他们的英语水平参差不齐,小部分同学对于表推测的词汇已经有了一定的了解,但是对于他们的应用还处于一知半解的状态,没有系统化;多数同学对于表推断的相关词汇还不是很了解,需要老师对学生的认知水平进行归纳提升,使学生对相关词汇的熟悉,提高自己的英语水平。
【教学目标】
1. 语言知识目标:
1) 能掌握以下单词:
Toy truck, hair band, rabbit
能掌握以下句型:
—Whose book is this / Whose is this book
—It must/can’t/could/might be Mary's.
It must/can’t/could/might belong to Mary.
2) 能够用情态动词表推测.
2. 情感态度价值观目标:
让学生根据已有事实推测可能性。
【教学重点、难点】
1. 教学重点:
1) 掌握本课时中出现的生词toy truck, picnic, volleyball, whose, pink, rabbit, valuable, somebody, anybody
2) 学会描述表示物品所属提问和回答:
—Whose book is this
—It must be Mary's. /It must belong to Mary.
2. 教学难点:
Whose .......is this /Whose is this ...... 句型

Step 4 Presentation

Must 100%probably true 一定
Might/could 20%~80%possibly true 可能
Can’t 0% almost not true 不可能

Listening (2a)
Background of 2a: You know there are many things in the lost and found case. Many students find something but they don’t know the owner.
2. The first listening of 2a: Bob and Anna found a schoolbag in front of their school. "What’s in the schoolbag " Play the recording for the first time. The students listen to the tape only.
3. Finish 2a: Play the recording a second time. Students write down the things in the schoolbag.
4. Check the answers.
Listening (2b)
Call students’ attention to the chart. Point to the numbered list of sentences which contain a blank.
2. Play the recording. Have students listen to it and fill in the blanks. Check the answers.
3. Listen and fill in the blanks below.(Consolidation)
4. Point to the box that explains the explanations of how to use the words must, might, c could and can’t. Read the explanations to the class. Make sentences with each of the words and write the sentences on the blackboard.?
