教学过程 Step 1: Lead in Answer Questions: ● What monitor is he ● Who is class monitor in our class ● What task should you finish ● What strong points do you have Matching Activity: Match monitor roles with duties (e.g., class monitor hold meetings; PE monitor organize sports). Step 2:Before Reading Introduce Speeches: Explain that Li Ming and Wang Mei are running for monitor roles and will give speeches. Step 3: While-Reading Activity 1 Analyze Li Ming’s Speech : -Students read the speech and fill in blanks (experience, friendly, bridge). -Discuss: Why does Li Ming call himself a “bridge” How does his experience help Activity 2 Analyze Wang Mei’s Speech: -Highlight her grades, willingness to share, and teamwork. -Compare the structures of both speeches (character, ability, promises). Step 4: Post-Reading Activity1 Read the strong points again and analyse them. Activity2 Complete the conversation with the correct forms of the phrases. Step 5:Group work Our class needs an English monitor. Three students a group, choose a leader to give a speech. Before speaking it out, prepare from the following three aspects(方面). Step 6:show time! Step 7:Deep thinking What kind of characters should a monitor have Step 8:writing What are your strong points What monitor would you like to be Write a short passage. Step 9: Language points Step 10: Exercises Finish the exercises on PPT. Step 11 Homework Basic - level Homework Look for the expressions related to campaign speech in the text, summarize the writing structure, and organize them in a notebook and complete the relevant exercises. Practical Homework Write a short essay introducing the class position you want to run for (such as class monitor, learning monitor, etc.), stating your advantages and plans, with no less than 80 words. Expansion - level Homework Look up information to understand the responsibilities and election methods of similar class positions in foreign schools, and organize it into a simple report, including at least the situations of 3 different countries. You can write it in either English or Chinese.
