One possible version :
As he lifted his head out of the water, Mike glanced up at the scoreboard. His name was at the top, displaying a personal best. Pride and relief surged through him as he realized his hard work had paid off. The early morning runs, disciplined diet, and relentless training had brought him back to victory. The crowd’s cheers echoed, but what truly mattered was the quiet satisfaction of overcoming his struggles. This win was different—it was about perseverance and growth, not just luck.
Shortly after coming out of the pool, Mike rushed to his parents excitedly. His face was glowing with excitement as he hugged them tightly. They hugged back, their eyes filled with tears of joy. Mike felt grateful for their unwavering support. He understood that the real key to his success was discipline and resilience, not the ice cream he once relied on.

M: Thanks so much for coming to our house! My wife and I really need someone to look after the children. After we had our first baby six years ago, my wife left her job as a lawyer to care for him. Then we had a little girl—that was two years ago. But my wife has decided to start teaching at a university. So we’d like to hire someone to watch them during the day.
W: Well, I have a lot of experience taking care of children! I started babysitting my own little brothers and sisters when I was in middle school. I also looked after other people’s children to make money when I was in high school. And I have learned basic first aid from an experienced nurse.
M: Wow! You sound like you know what you're doing. If you want the job, we’ll pay you twenty dollars an hour. You should work three days a week. My wife only teaches part of the week, so we don’t need you all the time, especially at weekends.
W: That sounds perfect. I’ll take the job!
Text 10
Each year, the World Children's Baseball Fair gives the chance for teams of children from around the world to learn and play baseball together. I was lucky enough to attend the fair in Taiwan last summer. At first, I felt very nervous about traveling so far, however, my teammates tried to make me feel comfortable. In the mornings, we learned baseball skills. In the afternoons, we took part in some interesting activities. On our first day, for example, we visited a traditional Taiwanese farm.We learned to make rice dumplings with the local people. Later, we also visited local museums and restaurants. The best part of my trip was meeting kids from around the world. The children came from different countries, including France, Holland, Japan and Mexico. Most of us spoke different languages, but that didn't matter. We could use baseball as an international language to communicate and create friendship.
