do 表强调
在英语中，通常把助动词do/does/did 放在动词原形前，用以加强语气，意为“真的，的确”。助动词do 随主语的人称、数和句子的时态变化而变化。此时do/does/did 要重读。
He does like Chinese food. 他确实喜欢中华美食。
I did go to the party. 我确实去了派对。
Do remember to close the door! 务必记得关门！
do 还经常用于祈使句中表示强调。

对谓语动词强调的句子，通常时态是一般现在时或一般过去时，即只有do, does, did 的形式，没有is doing, has done的形式。

（1）suggest sth. (to sb.)(向某人) 建议某事
e.g. He suggested a two-day-long stay in Beijing on the way home. 他建议回家时在北京停留两天。
（2）suggest doing sth. 建议做某事
e.g. The doctor suggested taking the medicine twice a day.
医生建议一天吃药两次。

suggest 后接that 从句时，从句要用虚拟语气，即谓语用“（should+）动词原形”。
特别提醒：“建议某人做某事”不能用suggest sb. to do sth. ，而用advise sb. to do sth. 。
（3）suggest+ that 从句 建议……
e.g. To make the school life more colourful, I suggest that you should join some clubs. 为了让学校生活更加丰富多彩，我建议你加入一些社团。
拓展：（1）suggest 还有“暗示；表明”之意，后接宾语从句，从句不用虚拟语气。
e.g. His pale face suggests that he is in bad health.
他面色苍白说明他身体不好。
（2）suggest 名词形式为suggestion，是可数名词。其同义词是advice，为不可数名词。
e.g. Several of the members have come up with suggestions of their own. 有几位成员提出了自己的建议。
