课 题: B2U3 The Internet-Reading and Thinking
Content: B2U3 The Internet Stronger Together: How We Have Been Changed by the Internet
Type: Reading and Thinking
Teacher:
Student: Senior Grade 1
Teaching Time: 40 minutes
Teaching philosophy:
The whole design is based on the understanding of General Senior High School Curriculum Standards and it attaches great importance to students’ core competencies. In order to achieve that, the activity-based-approach to English learning, the big ideas of the whole unit and integrating-teaching-learning assessment will be applied. To promote students’ core competencies, a series of activities to help students read, think and practice will be designed. Besides, various assessments are adopted to give students timely feedback.
General Introduction:
Analysis of the Whole Unit: The theme of this unit is the Internet, the global system of interconnected computer networks that has connected the world over the past few decades and has become the backbone of global industry and modern culture. Students will learn about online habits and communities, contemporary Internet technology such as apps and blogs, as well as social media and the influence it has on modern life. Finally, students will step further into the realm of e-learning, and will learn to analyse related websites and apps. It is hoped that students can use the information in this unit to reflect upon how the Internet has and will affect their lives and the world around them in the future, as well as teaching them the inherent power and danger of this essential technology. The content of each period is as follows.
Theme Opening Page Listening and Speaking Pronunciation Reading and Thinking
Unit 3 The Internet The theme map uses dark blue to represent the vast universe and the Earth we live on. The interwoven, sweeping lines represent network connections, bring people together in every corner of the Earth and fully demonstrate the nature of the Internet─Interconnection. Ask about online habits: The listening text is a survey interview. The investigators gather information by interviewing specific people with the same questions, and understand their views, practices or attitudes towards the issue. Help students learn which words in a sentence are stressed and which not. It is of great significance to improve the accuracy of pronunciation, listening comprehension and oral expression. Start a online community: It introduces a story of an unemployed female teacher in her fifties who not only changed her own life by using the Internet, but also helped other elderly people learn how to use the Internet and thus changed their lives and destinies.

Blackboard Design
IX. Reflection
The highlight of the teaching design is that after the lesson, the students have better understanding of title and structure of the whole passage with the scaffolding adopted in the teaching procedure. The mind map makes the structure of the whole passage visualization. What’s more, Multi-modal Teaching stimulates students' multi-sensory participation in class, which engages students with multiple senses and also attaches great importance to students’ core competencies. In order to achieve that, the activity-based-approach to English learning is applied.
How to use the students’ output to test the input of students, cultivate students’ virtue and quality in this class is a big challenge in our design. Besides, it is another challenge that based on the theme of the context, how to develop students' ability by improving teaching design and development, overall teaching by judging the values of the text. And, the assessment should have embraced greater variety.
