Do you always feel lonely When do you feel lonely Is loneliness a good feeling Nowadays more and more people are having this kind of feeling in their daily lives. When someone feels lonely, he or she will have an experience of being alone because of low levels of social contact and relationships.
There are two kinds of loneliness: emotional loneliness and social loneliness. Emotional loneliness is about the relationship between parents and their children. When children leave their parents for a while, they usually show the pain, such as crying and trying to search for their parents. Therefore, emotional loneliness is caused by leaving a person that someone is close to, such as a parent. On the other hand, social loneliness is the loneliness that one experiences when he or she leaves a wide social network. One doesn't feel that he or she is a member of a group, or one doesn't have friends to talk to when he or she is sad.
Besides, loneliness is different from being alone. Being alone is about not having contact with people. But loneliness is a_subjective_experience: if people think they are lonely, then they are lonely. People can be lonely when they are alone, or in a group. What makes people lonely is the fact that they want more social interaction(社交). People can be in a group and feel lonely because they don't get to talk to enough people. On the other hand, one can be alone and not feel lonely, though there is no one around him or her. That person is not lonely because maybe he or she doesn't want to have social interaction at that time.
So, what about you Will you feel lonely if you stay alone Or you just enjoy the time being with yourself

One morning, she went to practise early as usual. She was about to take off her running shoes, when she realized she had forgotten her sprinting shoes. When her coach found out, he got mad. As a punishment, he ordered(命令) her to run with the long-distance(长距离) practice group.
Although my sister was a sprinter, she was able to keep up with the group. The long-distance coach asked the sprinting coach, “Who is that?”
“That's one of my sprinters,” the sprinting coach said.
As the runners neared the final corner, my sister was in the lead, pulling away from the other runners with ease. The two coaches were shocked by her natural long-distance running ability. What is the best way to get kids to eat vegetables Well, a school in California has found the answer: make them grow their own at school. The Edible Schoolyard(可食校园) at the Martin Luther King Junior Middle School has been a place where students enjoy growing, cooking and eating vegetables.
Alice Waters came up with the programme, in hope of developing a new way to teach children about healthy eating.
“We have a huge problem of bad eating habits in the United States, and teaching about healthy eating cannot just be left to parents. Schools should do something, too,” Waters said.
She told us how it works. “In the Edible Schoolyard, there is a garden and a kitchen classroom. In the garden, students are the keepers of the garden. They plant and care for the garden. In the kitchen classroom, they learn to cook and eat what they have grown themselves.”
Over their three years, a student will have 60 classes in the programme. Students come to the garden with their science teacher and to the kitchen with their humanities(人文学科) teacher.
