教材分析 本课时为本单元第一课时阅读课型第一课时。该板块活动主题是 “理解质疑精神 ”。教材通过引导学生分析 John Snow探究霍乱病 原、切断感染源，并最终阻止霍乱流行过程与方法理解质疑精神在 科学研究中得重要作用。
学情分析 全广州市各层次所有学校的高二学生。
教学目标 经过本课学习，学生能够： 1. 获取梳理文中有关 John Snow 本人和他调查并阻止霍乱蔓延的 事实性信息。； 2. 阅读 John Snow探究霍乱病源的记叙文，结合 John Snow 的研究 过程梳理科学研究的基本步骤，思考 John 身上所体现的科学精神 品质； 3. 能够概括文本内容。
教学重点与 难点 教学重点：正确理解并准确找出文中的科学研究基本步骤； 教学难点：引导学生寻找科学研究基本步骤的关键词组或句子；
