一、被动语态的意义与构成
英语中有两种语态:主动语态(active voice)和被动语态(passive voice)。主动语态中的主语是谓语动作的执行者,被动语态中的主语是谓语动作的承受者。 被动语态的句子相当于中文的“被”字句,常常翻译成“被……”、“由……”等句式。
例句:I clean the house.(clean的动作是由主语I来执行的。)
→The house is cleaned by me.(主语the house是动词clean的承受者。)
从上面的例句可以看出,被动语态由“be+过去分词(+by+动作执行者)”构成。其中助动词be有人称、数和时态的变化。变为否定句时,只需在助动词后面加上not即可。

二、被动语态的不同时态
被动语态的不同语态通过助动词be的变化来体现,be必须与主语的人称和数保持一致。
时态 构成 例子
一般现在时 am/are/is(not)+过去分词 The house is cleaned by my mum every day.
一般过去时 was/were(not)+过去分词 The house was cleaned by me yesterday.
一般将来时 will(not)be+过去分词 be(not)going to be+过去分词 The house will be cleaned by you tomorrow.
The house is going to be cleaned by you tomorrow.
现在进行时 am/are/is(not)+being +过去分词 The house is being cleaned now.
过去进行时 was/were(not)+being+过去分词 The house was being cleaned at that time.
现在完成时 have/has+been+过去 分词 The house has already been cleaned.
三、被动语态的使用情况
被动语态常用于下列情况:
1.不知道或没必要提及动作的执行者时。例如:
Paper is made from wood.纸是由木头制成的。
2.强调动作的承受者而非执行者时。例如:
The passive voice is used frequently.被动语态被频繁地使用。
3.说话或发表意见时,为了显得客观公正,也常常用被动语态。例如:
It is said that…据说……
It is reported that…据报道……
It is believed that…人们相信……
It is hoped that…人们希望……
注意:
①通常只有及物动词才能构成被动语态。不及物动词或动词短语happen,take place,break out等无被动语态。例如:
A funny thing happened in the classroom today.今天教室里发生了一件趣事。
The discussion took place in a famous villa on the lake’s shore.讨论会在湖畔的一座著名别墅里举行。
Fighting broke out all over the city.战斗在全城打响了。
②动词短语变为被动语态时,要视为一个整体,其后的介词或副词不能省去。例如:
She will take good care of the children.她会悉心照顾孩子们。
→The children will be taken good care of by her.孩子们会被她悉心照顾。

Culture and English teaching can go hand in hand
A deputy to the National People’s Congress advised cutting down the percentage of English classes and increasing that of traditional Chinese classes in school.

If you have the chance to enjoy Liang Chunlan’s paper-cuts,
you will be surprised at her skills.
Liang Chunlan,65,is a member of the Chinese Folk Literature and Art Association.She began learning how to make paper-cuts when she was a little girl.“Influenced by both my mother and grandmother,I developed such an
