sick 作“生病的”讲时，可作表语和定语。在句中作表语时be sick=be ill。
ill 作“生病的”讲时，只作表语，不作定语，其比较级和最高级分别为worse，worst。
一语辨异：I hate being ill (=sick), and I am afraid of seeing sick people looking sick and sad.
我讨厌生病，也害怕看到病人生病悲伤的样子。
拓展：sick 还有“恶心的”之意。feel sick“感到恶心”。
