“For thousands of years, humans have raced to be the first … Now, in some cases, we're racing to be the last, ” said The New York Times' Paige McClanahan. This is the spirit at the heart of last chance tourism, a rising industry.
Last chance tourism is about seeing the last of something, that's to say, visiting places before they disappear. Rising temperature and water levels mean that we may never get another chance to see certain islands, glaciers (冰川), animals, and so on before they disappear.
This may sound sad, but some people are using last chance tourism as a way to spread environmental awareness. One example is “the Sea of Ice” in Chamonix, France. The Chamonix ski resort (滑雪胜地) opened a glacier museum in 2012. There tourists can learn about glaciers and how climate change influences places like “the Sea of Ice”. This effort seems to have an effect. A 2020 survey showed that 80 percent of visitors would “try to learn more about the environment and how to protect it”.
Although it has these advantages, last chance tourism may also be speeding up the effects of climate change. As more people rush to endangered natural places, they create a bigger and bigger carbon (碳) footprint, leading to the destruction of these places in the end.
At the end of the day, it's not just about understanding the need to stop climate change; it's even more important to avoid making it more terrible.
59. What's last chance tourism
A.Being the last to see a place.
B.Visiting places before they disappear.
C.Traveling to certain islands.
D.Seeing some famous natural places.
60. How did the Chamonix ski resort help spread environmental awareness
A.By opening a glacier museum.
B.By offering free skiing training.
C.By listing endangered animals.
D.By creating a big carbon footprint.
61. What does the underlined word “destruction” in Paragraph 4 mean
A.商业 B.发现 C.魅力 D.破坏
62. What's the purpose of the text
A.To show the importance of racing.

C.To introduce a rising industry.
D.To tell us the effects of climate change.

Bob likes rock climbing very much. However, there wasn't one rock climbing club in his school at first, so he felt sad.
At the beginning of the second year of middle school, his school offered rock climbing lessons in order to encourage students to exercise. He was so happy that he took the lessons at once.
In the first lesson, the coach said, “Rock climbing needs strength, speed, courage and persistence(坚持). All these are necessary.” But in Bob's opinion, rock climbing was just a fun activity. It interested him.
During the following classes, the coach asked the students to run 1,000 metres first, and then climb with a rope. When Bob finished running, he was out of breath(呼吸)and got bored, and he even did not want to touch the rope. He thought it was less interesting than before. The coach noticed that and asked him, “Why do you want to take rock climbing lessons?” “I come for fun, of course.” “Is that fun?” he asked. Bob shook his head slowly. The coach then explained patiently, “That's because you stop halfway. You know, beautiful sights are always on top.”
After hearing his words, Bob made up his mind to finish his journey. When he got to the top in the end, he felt really excited.
Sometimes it's hard to reach the top of the mountain, but it's a pity to stop halfway, so don't give up.

I visited Huangshan to explore the most beautiful Hongcun Village during my two week trip to China. Here is something about the most beautiful ancient Hongcun Village.
Hongcun Village is over 900 years old and lies in Yi County of Anhui Province. It is mainly famous for its ancient houses and courtyards from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. You'll love the well protected beautiful village. It is fun to walk there and explore the small village, buy the local products, and eat in the village restaurants.
Moreover, taking pictures of the country houses is very interesting. I love the beautiful setting of Hongcun Village. It is said that the village was built in the shape of an ox. But the whole village seemed to me like a painting where every object was painted with so much fondness. It is a must see place especially for history and nature lovers.
In China, naturally beautiful places are always suitable to visit either in spring or autumn. March and April are the best months to visit the ancient Hongcun Village. I visited it in April during the spring season. You may also prefer to visit it in October during the autumn season.
The easiest way is to take a tour bus from downtown Huangshan. It will take one and a half hours to reach Yi County from Tunxi Bus Station. Every 15 to 20 minutes, buses depart from Yi County Bus Station to Hongcun Village. You can also go by private car or taxi.

A.To introduce a tourist attraction.

Are field trips worth all the time and effort needed to make them successful Most teachers have asked themselves this question when they prepare for a field trip. The truth is that field trips can cause quite a few headaches for teachers. At the same time, well planned field trips can provide students with truly educational experiences they cannot get in the classroom. The following is a look at the advantages and disadvantages of field trips.
Field trips provide students with new chances of learning through experiences. First of all, information is presented to students by different methods. Field trips provide students with the ability to learn by doing things instead of just listening to the information being taught in class. Students can have new experiences that, hopefully, open their eyes. Also, students and teachers can see each other in a different light, helping to increase communication between them. Some students who might be forgotten in class because they are quiet might really come alive on field trips.
However, teachers face a number of difficulties when planning a field trip. Field trips need preparation if teachers want to make them meaningful. They have to carefully choose places for travelling. They also need to create an effective lesson plan that they will follow when they are on the outing. Besides, field trips can be expensive, and some students may not have the money to attend. Organizers of the field trip may consider asking parents to add a few dollars to help students in need.
So next time when you plan a field trip, you can follow these instructions…

In Tongcheng City,Anhui Province,a very popular historical place named Liu Chi Xiang is attracting visitors. This narrow road holds a hidden story. During the Qing Dynasty, a high ranking official named Zhang Ying received a letter from his family back in his hometown one day. The letter showed a disagreement between his family and the Wu family, their neighbors over the house boundary(边界). Zhang's family members wrote a letter to Zhang Ying, hoping he could put pressure on the Wu family. However, Zhang answered with surprising smart thinking and he wrote a poem in the letter.
Writing a letter from home, miles away, just for a wall. What harm is there in giving them one meter Looking at the ten thousand mile long Great Wall.Long gone is its builder Emperor Qinshihuang.
In the letter,he pointed out that a wall should not cause fights. After reading the letter,Zhang's family members realized that the relationship with their neighbors was much more important than the wall. They moved their wall one meter back for the neighbors to show friendliness. The Wu family was deeply touched by what the Zhang family did and moved their wall one meter back as well. So it created a two meter wide road between the houses. The story has shown us the importance of being kind and tolerant(宽容的).
Zhang Yun, who comes from the same family as Zhang Ying, uses this smart thinking to help with problems in the community. He thinks giving in a little stops small problems from getting bigger.
