It's hard to refuse a delicious banana. Bananas taste good and you don't have to wash them before eating them. However, British scientists say that the fruit may disappear by 2050.
One reason for this is climate (气候) change. Scientists at the University of Exeter collected data from 27 countries that produce 86 percent of the world's bananas. They found that climate change has improved growing conditions in 21 countries of these countries. In the past 60 years, the average yield (平均产量) has reached 1.37 tons of bananas per hectare (每公顷).
However, if temperatures keep rising, this advantage will disappear. Ten of the countries, including India, the world's biggest producer of bananas, will produce fewer bananas. By 2050, the fruit may die out.
Shouldn't bananas grow more easily if it's hotter outside In fact, the perfect temperature for growing bananas is between 24℃ and 32℃. If the temperature gets too high, they will stop growing.
Diseases are another danger to bananas. Unlike other plants, all banana plants have the same genotype (基因型). In other words, if a disease is able to kill one plant, it could kill them all.
59. What is the reason why bananas may disappear by 2050
A.Climate change.

C.The same genotype.
D.Low temperature.

What subject do you worry about the most at school Many students worry about math. Some students can't sleep well the day before a math exam. Others may feel very nervous during the exam itself. But there might be a way to make the subject less stressful(压力大的).
“For people who are worried about math, posture(姿势) makes a big difference,” Erik Peper from San Francisco State University told the Daily Mail. That's right—sitting up straight can help you do better in math exams.
Scientists tested 125 college students. They asked them to do a simple math exam by trying both sitting in a slumped over (趴倒的) posture and sitting up straight. After the test, 56 percent of the students said the exam was easier to do if they were sitting up straight.
“Slumping over is a defensive(戒备的) posture. It can bring about bad memories in the body and brain. This can stop you from thinking clearly,” Peper said.
Good posture isn't just helpful in taking math exams. Sportspeople, musicians and public speakers can all benefit from better posture. When you feel stressed out, you can also try to sit up straight or stand tall. It can help you feel more certain and focus better.

“Today I will give you a special test,” said the English teacher with a smile on his face.
All the students sat up straight and waited for the test to begin. The teacher began to give the test papers to all the students. After he finished handing out the test papers, he asked them to begin.
The students were very surprised to see that there was not a question but a black dot (圆点) in the center of the paper. The teacher noticed the students' surprise and said, “I want you to write about what you see there.” At the end of the class, the teacher took all the students' answer sheets and read the answers. All of them described the black dot. After reading all the answers, the teacher said, “Here everyone only paid attention to the black dot, but no one wrote about the white paper.” The whole class listened silently, because they were afraid to fail in the exam. Then the teacher said, “Don't worry about your marks for this test. I just want you to think about our life. The white paper is like our whole life and the black dot in the center of the paper represents (代表) problems in our daily life. Our life is full of love and care. A team of scientists are carrying out a project at the University of Greenwich in London. They are trying to find ways to make food on Mars (火星) in the future. The project is called Feeding Mars.It tries to use water, fish and fish waste to grow fruit and vegetables on Mars.
It would take at least 21 months to reach Mars, learn about its surface and return to Earth. So it would be a big help if the spacemen could grow fresh food on Mars itself.
Farming on Mars, however, will be very hard. There's plenty of water that could be taken from ice just below the surface, but the land on Mars is missing the nutrients (养分) that living things need. The team say that they could solve the problem by growing plants and fish together. Fish waste can then be used to provide nutrients for plants.
“It is expected that you can grow lots of things, such as vegetables, salads, tea leaves and medicinal plants, on Mars,” said Dr Benz Kotzen, who leads the project. “You can even harvest (捕获) fish for food then.”
70.What does the underlined word “It” in Paragraph 1 refer to (指的是)
A.The future. B.The project.
C.The land. D.The planet.
71. What makes it difficult to farm on Mars
A.Ice below the surface.
B.Too much fish waste.
C.The lack of living things.

I'll be quite different from what I am today in the future. In 10 or 20 years, I'll be working as an engineer for a high tech company, having a simple but healthy lifestyle, and being involved in volunteer work.
In order to realize my dream, I'm going to work towards my short term and long term goals step by step. For one thing, I'm going to give full attention to my studies from now on so that I can get into a good university and get my dream job. Meanwhile, I'm going to develop healthy living habits that will keep me healthy and energetic enough to face everything. I'll also make it a habit to do volunteer work for people in need and help to make the world a better place for people around me.
To the future “me”, I want to say, “Please follow your dream and realize your value through hard work. Remember that it is you who shape your future and life.”
