并列关系:表示并列关系的词有 and, or, also, as well (as), too, not only...but also 等。 Some people like to read books in their free time. Others like to listen to music. And still others prefer to do sports.
递进关系:常见的表达递进关系的词或短语有 besides, in addition, furthermore, moreover, what's more 等。 The new product is of high quality. Besides, it is very easy to use.
转折关系:表示转折的词有 but, however, yet, while, whereas 等。 He studied hard for the exam. However, he still failed.
常用的词或短语有 on the contrary, in contrast, by contrast 等。例如:Some students are very active in class. On the contrary, others are very quiet.
原因引导词:表示原因的词有 because, because of, as, since, for 等。 He didn't come to school today because he was ill.
结果引导词:表示结果的词或短语有 so, therefore, thus, as a result 等。 He worked hard. As a result, he got a good grade in the exam.
这种情况下可能会使用 in other words, that is to say, namely 等词或短语。例如:He is a very punctual person. In other words, he always arrives on time.
There are many ways to keep healthy. For example, you can exercise regularly and eat a balanced diet.
First, we got up early and had breakfast. Then, we went to the park.
顺序关系:在描述做某事的步骤、过程等时,会用到表示顺序的词,如 firstly, secondly, thirdly 等,或者表示逻辑顺序的词,如 first of all, last but not least 等。例如:To make a cake, firstly, you need to prepare the ingredients. Secondly, mix them together. Thirdly, put the mixture in the oven and bake it.

(24-25高三下·湖南长沙·开学考试)The California road trip down Highway 1 is iconic. 1 It’s a dream trip for people who like to drive cars. So when I was offered the opportunity to do that trip in an electric vehicle (EV) — sort of reimagining that classic road trip without contributing to climate change — I decided to give it a try.
I picked up my electric car, a Tesla, at San Francisco International Airport. I was worried that it would have a steep learning curve, but it was really like any other car. 2 However, it took me less than 30 minutes to adjust to all these things. The ride itself was smooth, and it felt the same as driving a traditional car. It had so much power and that surprised me. It can go very fast, very quickly, even on the steep hills the region is known for.
My biggest concern at the beginning of this EV road trip was running out of battery life in the middle of nowhere. 3 I had no idea how advanced the infrastructure for EVs would be on my route. Before I left, I just checked Google Maps for charging stations and a couple of forums to make sure an all-EV road trip was possible, at least in theory.
When I picked up the car, it said I could go more than 250 miles on one charge. 4 I’d also heard that some electric cars use a lot of electricity if you turn on the heat, but I never turned on the heat because it was the perfect temperature during my trip.
Beyond the ease and convenience of ecotourism, it felt good to be driving an EV in this area too. Not that EVs don’t pollute at all, but it was a good feeling to not be doing the opposite of what I should do in that beautiful landscape. You’ve got a silent car, you don’t disturb the animals, and you don’t pollute the air. 5 .
A.I never tested that on the trip.
B.I didn’t like eco-friendly cars at all.
C.I’m not the fastest guy with electronics.
D.Almost everyone knows about that route.
E.It’s a lot more eco-friendly than a normal car.
F.I had never driven an eco-friendly car before.
G.The route is well-known for its rough conditions.

This will work only if they have not yet established a pattern of bullying you. 7 If you can not stop the bully directly, you can shifting focus to the bystanders by asking them if they are going to allow the bully to do this or if they are only going to watch and do nothing.
Be Accompanied
Bullies usually hunt for people who are alone or have isolated themselves from their surroundings. If you are with your friends. or if you are in the company of someone, it is least likely that the bully will disturb you. It is not necessary to be surrounded by a buge circle. 8
Ignore Them
Another effective measure is by overlooking them. When you do not react to what they say or do no matter how hurtful it may be for you, they start to lose interest in you. They think of it as a gageos’ and when they get an emotional response from you, it satisfies their ego.
Tura The Situation Into A Joke
9 If you are one of these people, try to take advantage of your gift. Turn the situation into a joke. This will break the bully’s confidence and they will know that you are strong and sure about who you are. 10
A.Sometimes, even one can make a difference.
B.Some of us are born comedians.
C.This will make them back-off.
D.They often appear in our life, especially on campus.

(24-25高三上·北京昌平·期末)You’re standing in line at the grocery store or waiting for an elevator. You have no more than a minute to kill. And yet, before you’ve even realized what you’re doing, you’ve pulled out your phone and have begun to mindlessly scroll (滚屏) through apps.
11 Research suggests plenty of people do the same thing. Only 11% of people's smartphone checks were in response to a notification. For the rest of the time, they checked their phones totally unplanned, often without thinking through why they were doing it. We' re so used to constant stimulation that we feel uncomfortable when we’re not doing anything, even for just a few seconds.
Our brains are hardwired to seek out rewards like knowledge, entertainment, and social connection. All of those things were much harder to find before we had tiny computers at our fingertips. Now we do. Our phones are basically all-you-can-eat buffets for our brains, endlessly and easily serving up the things they want. 12
A quick phone check probably isn't doing your brain any real harm. 13 Over time, constant scrolling could have a negative effect on your job performance, relationships, sleep, and possibly even physical safety, if you’re doing things like checking your phone while you walk or drive. 14 When you give in to your urges and check your phone, then feel guilty about it, the feeling of failure adds shame to injury.
If you want to break the habit of constant checking, you’ll have to work at it. Building awareness is a good way. 15 For example, next time you catch yourself scrolling through short videos without even absorbing the content, think about whether you really want to be on your phone, or you are just putting off a less-fun task.
A.Checking your phone is often automatic.
B.There's also a mental-health element to consider.
C.Of course our minds can't help but feed themselves.
D.Start going without your phone for set periods of time.
E.The urge to check your phone is often related to stress relief.
F.Take a moment to ask yourself what is driving your behavior.
G.But it's also worth considering how all those little checks add up.

11.根据下文“Research suggests plenty of people do the same thing. Only 11% of people's smartphone checks were in response to a notification. For the rest of the time, they checked their phones totally unplanned, often without thinking through why they were doing it.(研究表明,很多人都会做同样的事情。只有11%的人查看智能手机是为了回应通知。在其他时间里,他们完全没有计划地查看手机,通常也没有想过自己为什么这么做)”可知,本段主要将看手机是无意识的。故A选项“查看手机通常是无意识的”切题,适合为本段的标题。故选A项。
12.根据上文“Our brains are hardwired to seek out rewards like knowledge, entertainment, and social connection. All of those things were much harder to find before we had tiny computers at our fingertips. Now we do. Our phones are basically all-you-can-eat buffets for our brains, endlessly and easily serving up the things they want.(我们的大脑天生就会寻求知识、娱乐和社会联系等奖励。在我们指尖上有微型电脑之前,所有这些东西都很难找到。现在我们知道了。我们的手机基本上是我们大脑的自助餐,没完没了地、轻松地提供它们想要的东西)”可知,选项承接上文总结大脑的自我功能。故C选项“当然,我们的大脑会情不自禁地养活自己”切题。故选C项。
13.根据上文“A quick phone check probably isn't doing your brain any real harm.(快速查看一下电话可能不会对你的大脑造成任何真正的伤害)”根据下文“Over time, constant scrolling could have a negative effect on your job performance, relationships, sleep, and possibly even physical safety, if you’re doing things like checking your phone while you walk or drive.(随着时间的推移,如果你在走路或开车的时候看手机,持续的滚动屏幕可能会对你的工作表现、人际关系、睡眠甚至人身安全产生负面影响)”可知,选项与上文为转折关系且承接下文说明量的积累会产生负面的影响。
14.根据下文“When you give in to your urges and check your phone, then feel guilty about it, the feeling of failure adds shame to injury.(当你屈服于你的欲望,查看你的手机,然后感到内疚,失败的感觉增加了伤害的羞耻)”可知,选项承接下文说明另一个考虑因素是心理健康。
15.根据下文“For example, next time you catch yourself scrolling through short videos without even absorbing the content, think about whether you really want to be on your phone, or you are just putting off a less-fun task.(例如,下次当你发现自己在浏览短视频时,甚至没有吸收内容,想想你是真的想玩手机,还是你只是在推迟一个不那么有趣的任务)”可知,下文通过具体实例说明上文要反思自己的行为。

How Your Brain Deceives You
Your brain possesses some incredible abilities, from recalling conversations with close friends to tackling complex math problems with ease. But it is not that perfect and has some shortcomings. 16 , resulting in errors that could be bad for your life However, you can avoid some of these errors by acquiring a better understanding of them
17 . When trying to solve a problem or make a decision, your mind often falls back on solutions that have worked in the past instead of figuring out new ones. While using shortcuts can be a useful and effective approach, they can also trip you up and cause you to make mistakes. For example, maybe you’ re terrified of flying because you can think of several tragic, high-profile plane crashes. In reality, traveling by air is much safer than traveling by car. However, your brain is using a mental shortcut to fool you into believing flying is more dangerous than it is.
Moreover, your brain might fail to detect significant changes occurring in your surroundings,a phenomenon referred to as change blindness. 18 , or it won’t be able to deal with different things at the same time. Seemingly not like a huge problem, it can have major consequences according to some research. For example, people who have jobs like air traffic control can make potentially disastrous errors as a result of change blindness.
19 . In the process. we twist reality to protect our self-esteem (自尊) — in other words, we don’t want to admit it when we mess up. Why do we participate. in the blame game Researchers believe it’s to safeguard our self-esteem and shield ourselves from the fear of failure. 20
A.Your brain has to prioritize what it pays attention to
B.From time to time, it may even overlook critical information
C.This realization can carry you through some unnecessary errors
D.One of the biggest shortcomings of your brain is that it can get lazy
E.It goes without saying that your brain is incapable of processing all information at the same time
F.When adopting this way of thinking, we attribute negative outcomes to factors beyond our control
G.When something goes wrong, your brain instinctively seeks someone or something to hold responsible

16.上文“Your brain possesses some incredible abilities, from recalling conversations with close friends to tackling complex math problems with ease. But it is not that perfect and has some shortcomings.( 你的大脑拥有一些令人难以置信的能力,从回忆与亲密朋友的对话到轻松解决复杂的数学问题。但它并不那么完美,也有一些缺点。)”提到大脑虽然拥有许多令人惊叹的能力,但并非完美无缺,存在一些缺点。B选项“From time to time, it may even overlook critical information (它甚至会时不时地忽略关键信息)”承接上文,具体说明了大脑的一个缺点,即有时会忽略重要信息,该选项符合语境,故选B。
17.下文提到“When trying to solve a problem or make a decision, your mind often falls back on solutions that have worked in the past instead of figuring out new ones. (当试图解决问题或做出决定时,你的大脑经常依赖于过去行之有效的解决方案,而不是想出新的解决方案。)”这说明大脑在解决问题时有时会变得懒惰,倾向于使用旧的方法。D选项“One of the biggest shortcomings of your brain is that it can get lazy (你大脑最大的缺点之一就是它会变得懒惰)”直接指出大脑懒惰这一缺点,与下文内容紧密相连,为下文提供了铺垫,故选D。
18.上文提到“Moreover, your brain might fail to detect significant changes occurring in your surroundings, a phenomenon referred to as change blindness. (此外,你的大脑可能无法察觉周围环境中发生的重大变化,这一现象被称为变化盲视。)”说明大脑有时无法注意到周围的变化。A选项“Your brain has to prioritize what it pays attention to (你的大脑必须优先关注它所注意的内容)”指出大脑需要优先关注某些信息,这解释了为什么大脑有时会忽略其他信息,包括周围环境的重大变化,该选项符合语境。故选A。
19.下文提到“In the process, we twist reality to protect our self-esteem (自尊) — in other words, we don’t want to admit it when we mess up. (在这个过程中,我们扭曲现实以保护我们的自尊——换句话说,当我们搞砸时,我们不想承认。)”说明当出现问题时,人们往往不想承认,并倾向于推卸责任以保护自尊。G选项“When something goes wrong, your brain instinctively seeks someone or something to hold responsible (当出现问题时,你的大脑本能地寻找某人或某事来承担责任)”的内容与后文的in this process相呼应,并且直接指出大脑在出现问题时会寻找责任对象,与下文呼应,符合语境。故选G。
20.上文提到“Researchers believe it’s to safeguard our self-esteem and shield ourselves from the fear of failure.

Don’t Let Personality Types Define You
Personality tests, especially the Myers-Briggs type indicator(MBT), are popular tools that many people use to better understand themselves and their relationships with others. MBTI sorts people into 16 different personality types based on four key categories. Although these tests can provide useful insights, it’s important not to let them define or limit you.
21 . But people are complex. Our personalities can change over time, depending on experiences and growth. What the MBTI test reveals is just a snapshot of one’s preferences, not a complete definition of who you are. For example, if the test labels you as an “introvert” (性格内向的人), you may feel tempted to avoid social communication because you think it’s not in your nature to be outgoing. But you might find that your ability to enjoy social events increases over time. The key is not to accept the label as an unchangeable fact. 22
Similarly, if you are categorized as a “thinking” type, it might lead you to believe that you are always rational 23 Emotional response is also an essential part of human nature, and embracing them can enhance your decision-making process and relationships.
Additionally, many people get caught up in the idea that their “type” limits their careers or personal choices. They might think, for instance, that an “introvert” would not be a good leader. 24 . Many introverts achieve success through careful listening and thoughtful decision-making. Don’t let de MBTI label stop you from pursuing opportunities that feel right for you.
Finally, one of the most important lessons we can learn from the MBTI is that we are not defined by one test or label. 25 . By focusing on our strengths and embracing the full complexity of our personalities, we can lead richer and more fulfilling lives. We are all more than the labels we receive.
A.The reality is quite different.
B.The test results should be seen as a guide, not a limitation.
C.The MBTI system provides a simple way to categorize individuals based on their preferences.
D.But there are countless examples of introverts excelling in these types of roles.
E.You should see it as a starting point for self-reflection and growth.
F.However, it’s essential to understand that both parts of the personality are valuable.
G.The MBTI system can sometimes prevent individuals from realizing their full potential.

21.由上文“Personality tests, especially the Myers-Briggs type indicator (MBTI), are popular tools that many people use to better understand themselves and their relationships with others. MBTI sorts people into 16 different personality types based on four key categories.(人格测试,尤其是迈尔斯-布里格斯类型指标(MBTI),是许多人用来更好地了解自己和与他人关系的流行工具。MBTI根据四个关键类别将人们分为16种不同的人格类型。)”可知,这里介绍了 MBTI 这种人格测试会将人按四个关键类别分为 16 种不同人格类型,空格处需要对其分类情况进一步说明来衔接后文,且后文“But people are complex.(但人是复杂的。)”进行转折,而C项“The MBTI system provides a simple way to categorize individuals based on their preferences.(MBTI系统提供了一种根据个人偏好对其进行分类的简单方法。)”
22.由上文“The key is not to accept the label as an unchangeable fact.(关键是不要接受标签是不可改变的事实。)”可知, 这里强调不要把标签当作不可改变的事实,空格处要进一步说明对待测试结果应有的正确做法,而E项“You should see it as a starting point for self-reflection and growth.(你应该把它看作是自我反思和成长的起点。)”
23.由上文“Similarly, if you are categorized as a ‘thinking’ type, it might lead you to believe that you are always rational.(同样地,如果你被归类为‘思考’型,这可能会让你认为自己总是理性的。)”可知,这里提及被归为某类型后的片面认知,空格后“Emotional response is also an essential part of human nature, and embracing them can enhance your decision-making process and relationships.(情感反应也是人性的重要组成部分,接纳它们可以增强你的决策过程和人际关系。)” 强调情感的重要性,而F 项“However, it’s essential to understand that both parts of the personality are valuable.(然而,重要的是要明白人格的这两部分都是有价值的。)”
24.由上文“They might think, for instance, that an ‘introvert’ would not be a good leader.(例如,他们可能认为内向的人不会成为好的领导者。)” 表明内向者也能成功,而D项“But there are countless examples of introverts excelling in these types of roles.(但有无数内向者在这些角色中表现出色的例子。)”
25.由上文“Finally, one of the most important lessons we can learn from the MBTI is that we are not defined by one test or label. (最后,我们可以从MBTI中学到的最重要的教训之一是,我们不是由一个测试或标签来定义的。)”可知,这里说明不能被测试或标签定义,空格处要进一步说明对测试结果的正确看法,而B项“The test results should be seen as a guide, not a limitation.(测试结果应该被看作是一种指导,而不是一种限制。)”指出应把测试结果当作指导而非限制,与后文“By focusing on our strengths and embracing the full complexity of our personalities, we can lead richer and more fulfilling lives.(通过关注我们的优势并接纳我们个性的全部复杂性,我们可以过上更丰富、更充实的生活。)”

How To Dea l With A Bully!
Bullying is when someone misuses their power inside s relationship. 6 However, there is something we can do to stop the situation from worsening.
Ask Them To Stop
Telling them to stop in a firm voice can make them reconsider their actions.
E.This behavior can do harm to others and often leaves the victim feeling helpless.
