Nobody likes doing the dishes because doing the dishes is boring. According to a new study, washing dishes by hand instead of using a dishwasher(洗碗机) is better for children's health.
Researchers in Sweden surveyed the parents of 1,029 children. They found that children whose families hand-washed the dishes instead of using a machine had less allergies(过敏).
Earlier research has shown that dishes washed by machines are cleaner than those washed by hand. So why would kids who eat with a little dirtier plates be better at stopping allergies One explanation is depended on an idea known as the "hygiene hypothesis (卫生假说)". It says the reason kids have allergies is because their environments are too clean.
Your immune system (免疫系统) keeps you healthy by fighting against germs(微生物) and viruses (细菌). But when you have allergies, it doesn't work well and tries to fight ordinary things like usual foods.
"Meeting germs, especially early in life, is good training for the immune system," says the writer of the study, Dr. Bill in a hospital in Sweden, "You encourage the immune system in different ways and it becomes strong."

Just as it is important to take care of your teeth, good sleeping can help us a lot. Here are some tips to help you make a healthy sleeping.
Make sure your bedroom is only for sleeping. Take the television, computer and radio out of the bedroom. Keeping them in your room will only distract(分心) you.
If you don't fall asleep right away, don't just look at the clock and think when you will. Get up and move to another room and read until you start feeling sleepy. Then go back to your room to go back to bed.
Don't drink coffee or wine. Coffee may make you wake up in the morning and wine before you go to sleep may make you sleepy. But neither helps your body to wake up or fall asleep naturally(正常地). You will become dependent(依赖的) on them and won't be able to sleep or wake up without them.

When he became fit for a wish from the Make-a-wish Foundation, he was too sick to travel anywhere, so he gave his wish away to his friend Emma Broyer.
She has been one of Mayhew's best friends and writes him notes of encouragement and tells other friends to do the same. It means a lot to him and his family, so, to thank her, they wanted her to visit the theme parks and see the sea in Florida.
They surprised her with the trip at a restaurant by giving her a T-shirt that read "Levi wished for ME to go to Disney!!".
Though Mayhew couldn't go along with Brover, she still found a way to bring him. She and her family brought a paper cutout (剪纸) with Mayhew's face on it with them on their trip and they took photos of it with them on all of their experiences.
They took all the photos of Levi and put them in a scrapbook named "Emma and Levi's trip" and gave it to Mayhew's family when they got home.

A new report says promising children money to pass exams does not help their exam grades. The report says parents may waste their money by using it to get their kids to study more.
