1. I’d like to help homeless people.
homeless adj. 无家可归的
homeless 由“home(n. 家) + -less(形容词后缀) ”构成。the homeless 意为“无家可归的人”。
e.g. They helped the homeless to live a comfortable life and the poor kids to go to school.
他们帮助无家可归的人过上舒服的生活并帮助贫穷的孩子去上学。
构词法记单词
名词加后缀-less 构成形容词,表示否定意义,意为“没有,无”,类似的词还有:
hope → hopeless(没有希望的)
use → useless(无用的)
help → helpless(无助的)

put up 张贴
put up 是一个“动词+ 副词”型短语, 表示“张贴”, 宾语一般是表示“海报、传单、布告、通知”等的名词。

put up 的其他常用含义:
