2.turn on 的用法
turn on指“打开(电灯、电视、收音机等)”,反义短语为turn off。
Turn on the blender.
打开食物搅拌器。
[拓展]
(1)turn on为“动词+副词”构成的动词短语。当宾语为名词时,可将其置于短语后面或动词与副词之间;若宾语为人称代词时,则只能将其放在短语中间。
I want to watch TV.Please turn it on.我想看电视。请把它打开。
(2)由turn构成的其他短语:
turn up调高(音量)
turn down调低(音量);拒绝
3.deaf的用法
deaf形容词,意为“不愿听的;不肯听取的;聋的”。常见搭配有:
(1)be deaf to 意为“(对……)不予理睬,充耳不闻”,相当于turn a deaf ear to(通常用于形容忽视的状态)。
(2)the deaf表示“失聪者”。
He is always deaf to his teacher’s advice.=He always turns a deaf ear to his teacher’s advice.他总是对他老师的忠告充耳不闻。
4.spend的用法
某人花费时间或金钱(做)某事
Jenny spends a lot of money on books.
珍妮花费很多钱买书。
I spent an hour(in) doing my homework last night.昨晚我花了一个小时做作业。

spend 多表示花费时间和金钱，主语通常是人，常用句型:

pay 多表示花费金钱，主语通常是人，常用于句型:
sb pay(s) some money for sth
take 多表示花费时间，常用于固定句型:It takes sb some time to do sth,其中it作形式主语
David spent 2,000 yuan on the new machine.戴维花了2 000元买这台新机器。
My father spends an hour(in) watching the news on TV every day.我爸爸每天花一个小时在电视上看新闻。
Tommy paid 20 yuan for his breakfast yesterday.昨天汤米花了20元吃早餐。
It usually takes me 40 minutes to cook the dinner.做晚饭通常花费我40分钟。
5.keep…away 的用法
keep…away 意为“避免接近;远离”。
If I were you,I’d keep that area away at night.
