3.suggest的用法
(1)动词,暗示;暗指
①suggest sth暗示某事
②suggest+that从句 暗示……
The look on his face suggested that he was angry.
他脸上的表情暗示他生气了。
(2)动词,建议
①suggest+(doing) sth意为“建议(做)某事”
He suggested going out for a walk.他建议出去散步。
②suggest(+that)+主语(+should)+do+sth意为“建议某人做某事”,其中should可以省略
He suggested (that) you(should) go there tomorrow.
他建议你明天去那里。
(3)suggest的名词形式为suggestion,为可数名词。

5.cut down 的用法
cut down意为“砍伐”,为“动词+副词”构成的短语,若代词作宾语时放在cut与down中间。

(1)cut down还意为“减少;降低”。
Pollution is becoming more and more serious.We must do something to cut it down.
