Earning a black belt in Tae kwon do and being issued a pilot's license are both impressive accomplishments that take years of effort to achieve, but 30-year-old Jessica Cox has done both despite being born without arms.
In spite of all difficulties, but with strong faith and the help of her family, Cox put herself through high school and then college, typing papers with her toes. She became the first armless black belt in American Tae kwon do(跆拳道) Association and now has two black belts. She got her driver's license and then, astonishingly, her pilot's license in 2008. The achievement earned her a place in the Guinness World Records, which recognized her for becoming the first person without arms to fly an airplane.
Now Cox is the subject of a new documentary, Rightfooted, which Cox says the hopes will inspire disabled young people around the world. "Had I watched a film similar to this one earlier, in my life, I know it would have made a difference." Cox says in a trailer(预告片) for the documentary.
The young woman says her current goal is to become a motivational speaker, particularly for children born without arms. She says she believes her message can reach millions of people working to overcome a variety of disabilities.
As the next step, she has been invited by nongovernmental organization Handicap International to work with disabled children in Ethiopia. Cox is extremely excited for the opportunity. She hopes that sharing her story will inspire children with disabilities and encourage Ethiopians to include all children in school because in Ethiopia only one percent of children with disabilities are educated and their parents do not think they can benefit from going to school. She also hopes to meet with government officials to inspire change.

D. To show how Cox works in Ethiopia.
121. Why does Cox want to be a speaker?
A. To give her message.
B. To prevent children born without arms.
C. To help people overcome disabilities.
D. To prove she can also be a successful speaker.
122. The goal of Handicap International in Ethiopia is to ?.
A. meet the government officials
B. help disabled children find jobs

In August 2008 a dream became reality when Senecio was born. In November, later that year, it was registered(注册) as an Article 21 company, and on Saturday 23 May 2009, it was officially launched. Senecio aims to assist children with disabilities who need therapy but who do not have regular access to treatment due to financial and social environment.
The launch was in the form of a fun run with a difference. The sun was surprised on Saturday morning by 200 eager participants who gathered at the Polo field. Although very cold, it was a beautiful sunny day without a breath of air. The whole route was wheelchair friendly, and we were very pleased to have 10 participants in wheelchairs and at least 10 more participants with other disabilities. Participants had a choice of walking, running or wheeling 4km or 8km. Being a fun run, assistance was allowed for those who became tired. Many of the people who entered for the 4km walk enjoyed themselves so much that they decided to complete the full 8km. One of the runners, on completion, decided that he needed a bit more, and added another 2km by running to the gate and back! The poor judges shivered(颤抖) in the cold morning air, but the bright smiles of the participants made up for it.
On completion, each participant received a wire medal in the form of the Senecio logo(图形) done by one of the local Somerset West artists.
After the event, many of the participants expressed the wish that this would be the first of many events to come. We believe that Senecio has an important role to play in the lives of many young people with disabilities, as we are already doing this at four different care centers in Somerset West and Grabouw.

A. wheelchairs B. money C. treatment D. fun

Many people have described television as a passive activity that is harmful to children's education. However, there are good and bad ways to watch television. Parents who are interested in using television as a learning tool can actually turn time in front of TV into an educational chance.
Probably the most familiar educational way to use television is to simply watch educational programs. In particular, this means selecting channels and programs specially designed for educational purposes. Along with traditional educational shows for children on public broadcasting channels, cable television now offers kids and adults a wide variety of educational programs, with everything from nature shows to historical events in different countries.
Captioning(说明文字, 字幕), such as "closed captioning" for hearing disabled viewers provides another way for parents to exploit (开发) the educational possibilities of television. One study showed that children who watched captioned TV got great improvement in their vocabulary and oral reading ability. In addition, parents can make any show a learning class by watching television together with children. By actively joining children in the programs that they are watching, parents can help with the development of such skills as predicting and summarizing. In order to develop predicting skills, parents and children could first refer to a program's description in a viewing guide. After reading the program description and guessing what might happen in the program, parents and children be able to watch together to see which predictions were correct. And to practice summarizing, after watching a program, parents can turn off the TV and ask what the story was about. This kind of activity helps children develop thinking skills such as arranging events in an order and memorizing information.
Although there will still be plenty of times when children watch TV simply for passive enjoyment, parents can help make at least part of their children's viewing time a more productive activity. Used intelligently by exploiting the learning chances available through various programs, television can play an instructive role in children's education.

I have been looked down upon during my l7 years. My head teacher told my parents I belonged in a school for the deaf.My classmates told me something was wrong with my brain.People speak louder than usual when they see my hearing aids in my ears. However,my hearing disability has made me a stronger person.I have to work harder and earn the respect of my teachers. In sports,I have to run faster, hit harder, catch better and score more points to prove I'm not physically limited.I consider myself no different from anyone else.In my struggle to prove I'm equal to my non-disabled classmates,I have made myself better than the average teenagers. I truly believe I would not be the strong person I am today if I did not have a hearing disability.
