六、完形填空(共20小题;共30分)
Years ago, if a teenager had some problems in her life, she might go home and write in her diary. Now, a teenager with 71 problems might go onto the Internet and write about his problems in a blog. In many ways a diary and a blog are very 72 . So, what makes blogging different from writing in 73 diary
The biggest difference is that blogging is much more 74 than a diary. Usually, a teenager treats her diary like a book full of 75 that she does not want to 76 .
It's interesting that someone who writes in a blog 77 a diary will probably write nearly the same information.
I have a little sister, and sometimes I go online to read her 78 . She writes about things like waking up early for swimming practice and not studying enough for her chemistry test. 79 I was her age, I wrote about the same things, but 80 in my diary. Then, after I had finished writing, I would hide my diary in a secret place because I was 81 that my sister might read it!
The biggest 82 with blogging is that anyone can read what you write. If I was angry with a friend during high school and wrote something 83 about her in my diary, she would never know! 84 , if my sister ever wrote something bad about a friend, that friend 85 read her blog and get a "cry".
There are also 86 to blogging, of course. If I felt sad one day and wrote in my diary, "Nobody cares about me," 87 would know about it. However, if my sister wrote the same sentence in her blog, her best friends would 88 respond and tell her how much they 89 her. Blogs help people 90 in touch with their friends and know what the people around them are doing.

Columbus made four voyages to the west between 1492 and 1504 in his vain search for a sea route to Asia. The mystery of why he failed to find it haunted(萦绕心头的) him and filled him with sadness.
Wherever he went to Cuba, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, South America, Panama, down the coast of Central America—it was always the same story. Instead of golden palaces, there were grass huts and palm-leaf tents. Instead of silk-robed merchant princes, he found “Indians” who did not have so much as a shirt on their backs.
When Columbus explored the West Indies in 1493, he heard tales of a fierce Indian tribe who literally devoured(吞食) its defeated enemies after a battle. These people were called by many names in the area, including Calina, Canima, Carib, and Caniba. Columbus recorded the name of the American natives as Canibales in Spanish, a word which came to refer, within a few years, to any eater of human flesh. In the similar fashion, the word Caribbean, a title for the sea as well as for the region, came into English.
At times Columbus knew that this new land was not China, not Japan, not the Spice Islands. He seemed to accept it as a part of the earth that the geographers of Europe had never heard of before. It was another world—and he called it exactly that—but Columbus also insisted until he died that land he had reached was an unknown part of Asia.

World travel has moved on to a new level. Travelers can plan their online tours as new websites spring up. Virtual tourism is the latest name of the trend and although new, has seen some tourism websites grow to host over one million users.
These websites can give you the answer to almost any tourism question. Advice and information are not provided by a single source, such as the website host, but rather from travelers themselves—often in the thousands. This has proved to be very helpful for would-be travelers who are seeking information on questions such as where to find the best museums or beaches, whether it is better to tour Brussels by bike or on foot. Questions about food and restaurants, tourist spots, safety, and other matters are all answered. Posted advice promotes better preparation, such as what to pack when heading for Sicily.
Besides the useful advice, virtual tours have also been made available. If you'd like to view the nearby areas, or to know what it is like to be very close to the Seine River, a virtual walk along it would improve the experience.
Virtual tours have sprung up globally. In South Africa, John Gore established the Virtual Tour Guide. He said, "The world is panoramic(全景的). We are able to turn our heads and look in all directions and get a feel for where we are, but the photograph cannot show or describe that experience completely." It is technology that makes it possible to share the world around us in a 360 degree way, which really makes the viewer feel as though he or she is really there.

Building a company website is one of the most important parts of creating a successful business. But designing a website can be time consuming and expensive. Web designers are difficult to work with, and even though you're paying them. There are cheaper ways to establish your company online, and stands out among them.
offers free HTML5 and Flash website design that you can do on your own, without having to pay for a pricey web designer. With unlimited space for as many pages as you want, customized looks, photo galleries, blog platform capabilities, and social networking buttons, Wix has everything a business of any size needs to make an impact online. You get full control over what information fills in the blanks, and you don't have to know a thing about HTML to make this work. The way your website looks says a lot about your company. Wix does that, and it does it for free. Another thing that makes Wix the most affordable option in creating a website is that you don't have to pay for a separate web host—every page created on Wix is hosted on Wix, free of charge.
The Internet is the marketplace of ideas: Your company needs to share what you think. If you think just because you don't sell a product online you don't need a website, you're dead wrong. No matter what kind of business you have, if you want to reach an audience, you want to have a website that speaks to people. Wix lets you do that as quickly and easily as possible for free.
If you have a bigger budget, Wix has more options than just the free website design. You can choose to upgrade(升级) to the ad-less version which won't fill up your customer's screens when they visit your site. But if the most important thing to you is getting your company's name online right now, try today.

Whenever you are using the computer, your eyes are hard at work. Be kind to them by positioning the monitor 18 to 20 inches away from your face. 108.
Position the screen at your eye level, with the top of the monitor itself level with your forehead. This will keep you from having to lean your neck back or forward to see the monitor. 109. They can help you raise the monitor a little higher by putting a few books under it. They can also raise the height of the chair or you can sit on a pillow or two.

Dear Worried,
I have received your letter and I am glad to give you some suggestion. First of all, don't be disappointing. Many students find difficult to write well. In my opinion, if you want to improve your writing, you can do the following thing: First, doing some study with set phrases and sentence structures. Keep a list of them and then try your best to making some sentences with them. Second, read so much as possible. There are many things that can't be learnt at a time. You must see them in books for many times. Then you'll be able to use them correct. So, in order to write good, you must learn to read much. Finally, you'd better recite some good passages.
Good luck to you in your writing.
Yours,
Li Hua

(Selected from President's Radio Address)
On Thursday,I met with some of these people at the White House, and I am inspired by their stories.I was especially interested in a young man named Josh.At the age of 19,Josh had never touched drugs or alcohol. He had a promising life and career ahead of him.Yet after a car accident left him injured and unable to work,Josh started abusing alcohol and cocaine. He put his marriage and career in danger.Eight different treatment programs failed to turn his life around-but the interference of his grandmother, the support of his wife, and the loving influence of God did.Today, this young man is free of drugs. He's a caring husband and father. And Josh Hamilton of the Texas Rangers is one of the best players in Major League Baseball.More importantly,he and his wife Katie make time to share their blessings.Through their ministry, they're helping other Americans avoid the suffering their family endured
