There are many different ideas about the new rule. Some people think it is good, but others don’t think so.
Wang Xing is a high school student in Changzhou. “I want to help my parents with the housework, but I don’t have time to do so,” he says. “I just have a few hours to relax every weekend, so doing housework is not in my to-do list.” He also says that most of his classmates don’t do housework, either.
Xiong Bingqi, an expert (专家), says, “To make sure the new rule works well, parents need to help their children learn about some skills and join them to do the housework.”

Automated Kitchens: Benefits and Risks
Do you think automated (自动化的) kitchens only exist in science fiction shows like Star Trek Well, think again! Nowadays, robots are already being used to do many things in the kitchen, like frying chicken, making pizzas, and preparing salads. And artificial intelligence (AI) can even create new recipes based on the ingredients available in a kitchen. There are also more advanced ideas being developed to make high-quality restaurant kitchens automated.
At first, because new technologies are usually expensive, it’s the restaurants and other businesses that start using AI kitchen technologies. But as time passes by, the prices will probably go down enough for ordinary families to afford. This will change how our homes and society work.
There are some good things about AI kitchens. For example, cooks don’t have to do boring jobs like peeling potatoes or standing in one place for hours. This saves time and lets people do more important things. AI can also provide different kinds of special diets and tastes to meet personal needs.
However, there are also problems. Cooking is not just about making food. It’s a good activity that helps people communicate and express themselves. If we don’t need humans to cook anymore, these good things might disappear. Family relationships might not be as good without the time spent together in the kitchen.
Moreover, the kitchen is like a science lab at home. It’s important for kids to learn about materials, chemistry, and how to solve problems through cooking.
We also have to think about cultural problems. Sometimes, AI might change traditional recipes and cooking methods because it doesn’t understand cultural details well. This could make the dishes less diverse. If we rely too much on technology for cooking, the food might taste the same. It’s similar to how AI art images look alike in different apps.
In conclusion, while new technologies bring convenience, they also have a price. We need to think about the possible problems they might cause in our society, especially when it comes to something as important as food in our daily lives.
6.Why are restaurants the first to use AI kitchen technologies, according to the text
A.They are more interested in automation.
B.They can afford the high costs.
C.They have more space for robots.
D.They want to attract more customers.
7.What is one potential benefit of AI kitchens mentioned in the article
A.Meeting various tastes. B.Saving money on food.
C.Reducing kitchen waste. D.Improving family relationships.
8.If AI takes over cooking completely, what might happen to traditional cooking skills
A.They might be improved. B.They might be lost.
C.They might stay the same. D.They might become more popular.
9.What aspects may artificial intelligence kitchens have problems according to the article?
A.AI cannot understand cultural details and might change traditional recipes.
B.AI cannot provide special diets and tastes.
C.AI cannot reduce the price of kitchen technology.
D.AI cannot conduct scientific experiments in the kitchen.
10.What is the author’s attitude toward the widespread use of AI kitchens
A.Uncaring. B.Unclear. C.Positive. D.Cautious.
Do you smile after leaving a barber shop This question is being talked about a lot on the Internet again. It’s because a barber shop named Xiaohua in Hunan has become very popular through live-streaming.
Xiaohua has been open for 11 years. People like it because it has low prices and a great barber named Li Jing. Li Jing can always meet customers’ needs in the live-streams.
But Xiaohua is different from most barber shops. Many people still face problems like expensive prices and barbers who don’t understand what they want. A survey by China Youth Daily found that more than half of 1,314 people think the hairdressing service needs to be improved.
I have the same feeling. Barbers often don’t understand my needs. A simple cut often turns out bad. And they don’t thin my thick hair well. Bangs are the worst. Some cut them too long, some too short, and they all say it’s the best for my face or style.
Liu Zhensheng, 48, who has been a barber in Beijing for 33 years, said customer dissatisfaction is because of bad skills, confusion or barbers not listening. Some stores only promise to do the same style according to the pictures displayed by customers, without really discussing what customers want. But everyone’s hair, face, and bone structure are different, so getting a haircut may be disappointing.
Also, the prices in many barber shops are very high. Near my home, in a chain barber shop, the price for a simple haircut can be from 64 to 241 yuan depending on the barber’s title like “chief designer”, “technical director” or “creative director”. These titles are confusing.
Liu said high prices are because of the shop’s design, facilities, fame and service, not because of skills. But barber shops should focus on meeting customers’ needs.
The authorities should also pay attention to and reduce unfair prices. If the hairdressing industry could provide a price guide for services, that would be great. In the long run, sincerity is very important. Barbershops should listen to customers’ voices, pay attention to details, avoid playing tricks, and choose products carefully.
11.Why did Xiaohua barbershop become popular
A.Because of its high prices. B.Because of its good location.
C.Because of its low prices and a great barber. D.Because of its fancy interior design.

Is introvert (内向的) personality really not so good as people think Lots of parents think their children are introvert and it is not easy for them to make friends. So these parents want their children to become outgoing.
In fact, there is no good or bad personality, but different personalities. If a child is outgoing, he may easily make friends but he may not focus on something for a long time. Maybe introvert children are not good at making so many friends and they are often quiet. However, they are more likely to be careful and persevere with their interests.
And a study shows that 70% of successful people are introvert. For example, Einstein was always so quiet that he seemed to be in his own world when he was young. While other children were playing together, he was away from them and was thinking about something. Other famous scientists like Newton and Edison are also introvert.

Across many cities in China, schools have made a change to their class breaks starting from the fall semester. Instead of the traditional 10-minute breaks, students now enjoy 15-minute breaks. This is to encourage both students and teachers to spend more time outdoors.
In the past, the short breaks were not enough for students, especially those in tall buildings, to go outside and play. Sometimes, schools even restricted students from leaving classrooms during breaks for safety reasons. But now, things are different.
Cities like Beijing, Tianjin, and Qingdao in Shandong province have already added the longer breaks to their schedules. In Beijing, the extra break time didn’t change the students’ overall day much. Schools in Xinwu district of Wuxi, Jiangsu province, have gone a step further. They have 15-minute breaks and require students to have at least 100 minutes of physical exercise on campus each day. They also made sure classes don’t start too early and students can do what they want during breaks.
A primary school in Qingdao even introduced outdoor games like jump rope and hula hoop exercises during the breaks. They organize students by floor so everyone gets a chance to play outside. This winter, Harbin in Heilongjiang province has become a very popular place for tourists. People from all over China are coming to visit it.
Online promotion has played an important role in the tourism attraction of Harbin. A popular saying on Sina Weibo that many people are attracted to is: “It’s not that they can’t afford to go to Northern Europe, but that Harbin is more value for money.” However, the true reason is what the people in Harbin have done for the tourists.
After the overcrowding problem took place on the opening day of the Harbin Ice and Snow World, the Harbin Bureau of Culture and Tourism requested improvement. The park quickly apologizes and refunds (退款). The local restaurant has adjusted their serving style of frozen pears to suit visitors from Southern China, showcasing careful service based on their needs. This way, combined with residents providing free ride services to tourists, reflects the efforts of the people of Harbin to leave a positive impression on all tourists.
Following Harbin’s lead, many Chinese cities have taken a series of measures to promote winter tourism, forming a competitive “involution (内卷)” to attract tourists. Although regional competition is understandable, there have also been some mistakes in this process.
For example, two actors were hired, one female and one male, to play the female character “Daji” in Investiture of the Gods (《封神演义》) and interact with tourists in Yuntai Mountain in Henan province. People see them having physical contact, such as kissing visitors’ hands and touching their faces. This wasn’t a good way to show Chinese culture.
At the same time, competition among peers has made editors from various cultural and tourism social media regions to make extra efforts. For example, the Shaanxi account continued to release videos to compete even after 2 am.
What is truly important is not just following trends and posting slogans online, but developing interesting local attractions based on tourism resources. This means having nice places to visit, good hotels, easy travel, and tasty food. Doing these things well is what really makes a trip memorable and helps the place get more visitors.

47.Why do many Chinese cities follow Harbin and try to promote winter tourism

B.Because they want to solve the problem of overcrowding in Harbin.
C.They are trying to promote Harbin culture by hiring actors to interact with tourists.

Is it OK for parents to lie to a child For example, Linda’s 10-year-old son plays football. He’s not very skilled at it, but he loves it. Yesterday he didn’t play well. When he finished the game, he asked her mother, “Did I play well ” Linda said, “Yes! You’re a great football player!” Her words sparked a discussion about lying to children.
Amy thinks Linda did a right thing. Sometimes we have to tell white lies that are not harmful. It is necessary to tell white lies in daily life. Linda just wanted to make her son feel good.
But Jason doesn’t think parent should lie to our children. Linda lied to make her son feel better, but she missed a good chance of teaching him a life lesson. People should work hard for what they want. Maybe next time she can say, “No, you didn’t play well today. Great football players practise a lot. Let’s go and practise more.” The truth will make him strong and a good football player.
In my opinion, parents should be honest to their children, but they don’t have to tell the whole truth. B.Linda shouldn’t answer his son’s question next time.
C.Linda should tell another white lie to her son next time.

58.Which opinion would the writer most probably agree with
A.Parents have to tell the whole truth.
B.Telling lies to children is completely wrong.
C.Parents should always make children feel good.

①Most of us cannot imagine modern life without social media (社交媒体). We use it almost every day to keep up with what is happening in our friends’ lives, or find out the latest information. Although it has a bad influence if we don’t use it properly, social media has done more good than harm.
②The greatest advantage is that we can connect with people much more easily. We are still able to keep in touch with our friends if they are far away. With social media friendship goes beyond geography. Also, it makes it easier for us to make friends, especially for those who are afraid of making friends face to face. Are you shy If yes, social media has probably helped.
③Social media is also perfect for making yourself heard. Anyone with a voice can express it. Anyone with a talent is free to show it. Everyone is the new content (内容) maker. And anyone with a smartphone and the Internet can be a reporter. As a result, it has become much faster to cover the news than ever before.
④Social media, on the other hand, can make us less confident sometimes. A study found that the more a person uses social media, the sadder he feels about his own life. One reason for this is that people around us put colourful information and perfect pictures online to show off their best moment. So we often get a distorted sense of how wonderful their lives are compared to our own.
⑤Social media does not cause sadness. It simply provides another tool for us to use. Is it good or bad Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai says, “What is interesting is the power and influence of social media… We must try to use social media in a good way.”
