How long 多久，多长(时间)。对时间段提问，

How often多久一次，对频率提问，
答语为：once(twice/…)＋时间段；always等。
How far多远，对距离提问，其答语是表距离的内容。

(1) a couple of 有两种意思：表示具体的数量“两个”，指两个相同的人或物体；表示数量不定的“少数几个”，作这种虚指的用法时，视上下文和具体的语境而决定。
(2)辨析：for与since
for其后只能接表示“一段时间”的名词性短语，可用于多种时态，表示动作或状态持续时间段长短。
since 其后接表示“时间点”的短语或从句(过去时)，
也可以接“一段时间＋ago”，常用于完成时态；
还用于句型：“It is＋时间段＋since＋一般过去时的句子”。
表示过去某个时间发生并持续到说话时的动作或状态。
例句：It is two years since I came to China.
自从我到中国以来已经两年了。

第一课时 Section A (1a－2d)
考点 since的用法
意为“自……以来；从……以后”。
(1)作介词，后接表示时间点的单词或词组作时间状语，常用于现在完成时。
如：There have been many changes since the war.自从战争以来发生了许多变化。
(2)作连词，引导时间状语从句，从句通常用一般过去时，主句用现在完成时。
如：We have been friends since we knew each other.自从我们认识对方就成为朋友了。
【拓展】对since引导的时间状语(从句)提问用how long。
考点 Jeff has had his bike for more than 10 years.杰夫买他的自行车10多年了。
“for＋时间段”意为“长达……”，表示动作或状态持续了一段时间。
【注意】buy是短暂性动词，不能与时间段连用，故要将buy转换为与其意义相对应的延续性动词have。与此用法类似的词还有start/begin→be on，become→be，borrow→keep等。
如：The short play Cat has been on for half an hour.短剧《猫》已经开演半小时了。
考点 a couple of 的用法
意为“两个；一对；几个”，相当于a few/several，修饰可数名词复数。
【辨析】a couple of与a pair of
(1)a couple of意为“一对；两个”时，指任何两件同类的事物。
如：a couple of dogs两条狗
a couple of players一对选手
(2)a pair of指两件不能分开使用的东西，如鞋、袜、手套、裤子、剪刀等。
如：a pair of shoes一双鞋
two pairs of socks两双袜子
考点 not…anymore＝no more不再
如：You can drink no more.＝You can't drink anymore.你不能再喝了。
考点 Amy wants to keep her old things because they bring back sweet memories.埃米想留下她的旧东西，因为它们能勾起甜蜜的回忆。
(1)sweet作形容词，意为“甜蜜的；甜的；含糖的；甜美的；悦耳的”。
