Recently, our class had a discussion on whether teenagers should be encouraged to read classic literature works. Different students have different opinions.
Sixty percent of the students think teenagers should be encouraged to read classic literature works. Classic literature works are the crystallization of human wisdom. Reading them can increase our knowledge and broaden our horizons. Moreover, it is helpful for us to improve our language and writing skills.
However, forty percent of the students hold the opposite view. They believe classic literature works are usually difficult to understand and boring to read. Besides, teenagers have many other ways of entertainment now and they are not interested in classic literature works.
In my opinion, we should be encouraged to read classic literature works. Although they may be a bit difficult, they can really benefit us a lot. We should try to find the fun in them and make good use of these precious cultural heritages.
