A new high-speed railway was to be built through the small town. However，an archaeologist protested against its construction，because it meant an old tower which was regarded as the only historic heritage would likely 1.disappear.If the relevant departments gave way to him，it would lead to a great loss of money. How to creatively keep a 2.balance between construction and protection was a challenging issue. A committee was established to 3.prevent the tower from being damaged. They made sure that they would investigate relevant clues and conduct necessary research in an 4.attempt to solve the problem. The members referred to former documents，and turned to professionals from all over the world for advice. They made many proposals. At last，by comparison，they found that the application of the digital image technology could be a solution. Throughout the process，many overseas experts took part in the project. Many locals donated money and made great 5.contributions to it. At last，the tower was 6.preserved well. The locals held a parade for it. In their opinion，it was worthwhile protecting good traditions and 7.promoting further appreciation of heritage. They would not forgive those who damaged relics forever.
1 In order to promote tourism in this area and keep balance between development and protection，the Cultural Heritage Protection Committee has established a special department. The department aims to investigate the condition of local cultural relics，make proposals to the committee，and conduct protection activities，making sure that all the cultural relics are well preserved. They attempt to raise funds and call for contributions to the protection of cultural heritage. With major issues，they are likely to turn to local governments for help. To prevent the loss of cultural relics，every one of us should take part in the preservation activities. For example，there is a temple on the mount，which shows the creative design of ancient people. We must prevent it from disappearing. If possible，we can donate money to the committee. Where there are cultural relics，construction must be limited and give way to them. We make a protest against any conduct of destroying cultural relics and can’t forgive it. It is worthwhile for us to do so. It is believed that great changes will take place within a few years.

2 My friend is a professional archaeologist. He often downloads some applications and documents about cultural relics from websites. He was sent overseas to work a few years ago. He studied the pyramids in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Using digital technology，he looked closely at the entrance，exit and roof of the Great Pyramid and finally formed an image of the construction process. Later，he visited some famous historic sites all over the world and further studied the local traditions and customs there. Then he went to a famous mountain to research ancient caves. There are many dragons carved on the cave walls. These sculptures are of good quality and remain there forever throughout the human history. According to various clues and after making comparisons and contrasts，he identified that these caves could date back to the Tang Dynasty. In his opinion，cultural relics must be well preserved. He often quotes this famous saying that history is like a mirror.

Our beloved dog，Poppy，was also at a loss and didn’t conduct herself as usual. Poppy frowned and grieved all day long and we were concerned about her very much. To prevent her from being hurt，we made every attempt to cheer her up. But she protested against our every attempt. Finally，I proposed that we get a little dog for Poppy. Seeing that she had a playmate again，Poppy smiled happily，barked gently and wagged her tail cheerfully and constantly. Her gloomy moods finally disappeared. Poppy and the little dog established a friendship immediately.

One day, I spotted an old photo where my father stood in a beautiful room full of golden furniture and silk wall papers. Therefore, out of curiosity, I came to my father, begging him to share his past experience with me. He described how the Spring Festival was celebrated in China when he was a little child. So vivid were his words that I was completely fascinated by the rich cultural activities. It was then that I made up my mind to go back to China and seek my root.
