七、阅读理解(共14小题;共28分)
A
When it comes to friends, I desire those who will share my happiness, who possess wings of their own and who will fly with me. I seek friends whose qualities illuminate(照亮) me and train me up for love. It is for these people that I reserve the glowing hours, too good not to share.
When I was in the eighth grade, I had a friend. We were shy and "too serious" about our studies when it was becoming fashionable with our classmates to learn acceptable social behaviors. We said little at school, but she would come to my house and we would sit down with pencils and paper, and one of us would say, "Let's start with a train whistle today." We would sit quietly together and write separate poems or stories that grew out of a train whistle. Then we would read them aloud. At the end of that school year, we, too, were changed into social creatures and the stories and poems stopped.
When I lived for a time in London, I had a friend. He was in despair(失望) and I was in despair. But our friendship was based on the idea in each of us that we would be sorry later if we did not explore this great city because we had felt bad at the time. We met every Sunday for five weeks and found many excellent things. We walked until our despairs disappeared and then we parted. We gave London to each other.
For almost four years I have had remarkable friend whose imagination illuminates mine. We write long letters in which we often discover our strangest selves. Each of us appears, sometimes in a funny way, in the other's dreams. She and I agree that, at certain times, we seem to be parts of the same mind. In my most interesting moments, I often think, "Yes, I must tell." We have never met.
It is such comforting companions I wish to keep. One bright hour with their kind is worth more to me than the lifetime services of a psychologist(心理学家), who will only fill up the healing(愈合的) silence necessary to those darkest moments in which I would rather be my own best friend.

Friendships are some of the most important relationships that we will ever have in our lives. But how to build a solid friendship Here are five tips for you.
Tip 1.
True friendships can only be built in honesty. This is more than just telling the truth. Being real and open about who you are and your thoughts and feelings are a part of building a solid friendship. If your “friends” don't even really know you, who are they really friends with
Tip 2. Shared Experiences
As you build your friendship, you will share many experiences together. Some of these may be great adventures or hard times that the two of you go through together. These shared experiences are things that you will laugh about, talk about, and cry about no matter how much time passes.
Tip 3. Sacrificial(牺牲精神的) love
Love is the basis(基础) of all solid relationships. I am not referring to the emotion(情感) of love, but to the action of love. Love is what will cause a friend to get out of bed in the middle of the night to help another. Love is what will put aside someone's own wants to make sure that their friend is alright.
Tip 4. Understanding
When a friendship is solid, it will be based on each other's understanding. You may not agree with everything that a friend says or does, but you will be able to put yourself into his or her shoes to begin to understand. Offering understanding to a friend is very important, as it allows them to feel that they have someone in their corner that they can talk to and who will offer advice and suggestions, without having to worry that if they don't always follow it, the friendship will be lost.
Tip 5. Acceptance
A solid friendship is one in which two people accept one another, faults and all, for just who they are. There is no having to build up false excuses, or hide away the “dark secrets” from one another. We accept each other as whole, complete, and totally unique people.
105. What's the best title of Tip 1
A. Introduction of yourself B. Telling the truth
C. Honesty D. True friendships
106. Which tip can remind us of an English proverb “Love me, love my dog”
A. Tip 2. B. Tip 3. C. Tip 4. D. Tip 5.
107. What's the meaning of the underlined part “put yourself into his or her shoes” in Tip 4
A. Exchange your shoes with his or hers.
B. Try on his or her shoes.
C. Put yourself in his or her position.
D. Force yourself.
108. What's the best title of the whole passage
A. A solid friendship
B. The most important relationships
C. Five tips for you
D. Tips on how to build a solid friendship
C
Weekends are great time for students to sell such things as chocolate bars and greeting cards to raise money for their school, class or club. That is okay, because there are many reasons why children should be allowed to raise money for their school and club.
Fundraising(募集资金) is a great way to help children learn social skills. It is not easy to go up to a complete stranger and ask them for their money. They have to nicely ask for help, show the interested buyer what they have to offer and explain how it will help them at school. If someone refuses to buy an item, that child has to take the failure, and that is a learning lesson.
Students can learn how to deal with money by fundraising. Of course, it might seem safer for us to take charge of our children's earnings from their fundraising before it is turned in to the school. However, by making them keep track of it, count it, and make sure everyone pays the right amount, they are learning an important lesson. Dealing with money is important to know about when they are older.
Fundraising helps improve their schools. When one of our local schools lack funding for sports, the students and parents can join hands to raise that money they need. When they succeed, they feel like they have accomplished something important.
Fundraising allows for more life experiences for the children. Most fundraising is done for individual classes and clubs. The raised money is used towards things like parties, trips, or for the music club to go to see a Broadway play. The children receive the rewards for their hard work at raising the money. Without fundraising, these field trips and special school memories would be missed.
In a word, fundraising at weekends helps children a lot in many ways.
109. We can infer that the author is probably a .
A. teacher B. student C. parent D. buyer
110. When students raised enough money for sports, they would .
A. think they were very important
B. take charge of their earnings safe
C. plan some field trips and parties
D. have a sense of achievement
111. Which of the following shows the structure of the passage
CP: Central point P: Point Sp: Sub-point(次要点) C: Conclusion
A. B.
C. D.
D
You know how wonderful you are, and you know that others know how wonderful you are, but what do you do when admiration crosses over the line into jealousy For most teens there will come a day when you realize that one of your friends is jealous and that this jealousy is hurting your friendship. When this happens it can seem like there is nothing that you can do, but the good news is that there is. Don't let jealousy spoil your relationships. Tackle it head on and you might be back to normal much sooner than you think.
It can be hard to walk up to friends and ask them what the problem is, but if you want to save your friendship you'll have to do just that. Don't approach them and ask why they are jealous of you (unless of course you want to appear totally conceited), just take some time alone with them and let them know that you've been feeling like there's been something coming between you. If they refuse to respond, then use the opportunity to explain how you have been feeling. Chances are that something you say will strike a nerve and your friend will open up as well.
When you figure out what is annoying your friend, ask him or her what he or she thinks would make the situation better. If, for example, he or she says that he or she feels like he or she doesn't get to spend any time with you because of your being off with your new friends from the swim team then maybe you could invite him or her along the next time or block off one day a week for just the two of you. Remember, though, that whatever solution you decide on should be a compromise. Don't limit your own talents or opportunities simply because your friend is unhappy. Try instead to include him or her in your new life and see how that works out.
Even the best of friendships can be tinged by jealousy. This destructive emotion is rarely productive and can turn best friends into worst enemies. Before taking extreme action, chat with your jealous friend to see if the two of you can work out a compromise. If you can't, be prepared to know exactly how far you will go to keep your friend and how far you won't.
112. According to the author, the jealous emotion is .
A. normal B. productive C. destructive D. extreme
113. The underlined word "it" in the first paragraph refers to .
A. friendship B. relationship C. admiration D. jealousy
114. The purpose of the passage is .
A. to explain what causes jealousy
B. to offer some advice on making friends
C. to introduce the way to cope with a jealous friend
D. to explain how destructive the jealous emotion is

Getting Along with Your Parents
When you were very little, you and your parents would hug or touch each other, play together, talk to each other and be together almost all the time. As you get older, you become less dependent on your parents and more dependent on yourself. 115. But communication between you and your parents is not any less important.
Everywhere has rules. You have grown up with lots of rules around the house. 116. As you get older you may want to make some changes. Make a time to talk to your parents if you don't already have a regular time.
When rules are broken there are always consequences. Part of growing up is learning that whatever you do has an effect on others as well as yourself. 117. Your mum may see that differently. Instead of complaining "How unfair it is", do a bit of thinking what was the reason you were grounded Did you learn anything from this
118. They have other roles too. Parents deserve some "time-out" too! So, be respectful to whoever is looking after you when your parents are out. Otherwise, it could be hard for them to find a babysitter next time.
Everyone has many roles to play in their lives. Whatever role you play in the outside world, you can be yourself at home. Learn to get along with each other, respect each other and care for each other. 119.
A. These are the people who will be part of your life forever.
B. Giving parent some time to have a rest.
C. You may think that being late home is okay because you were safely with a friend.

In the past, teachers always kept on to explaining the points in class. Our students just listened and take notes. But now we often discuss and try to solve the problems raising by the teachers or ourselves. After class, we enjoy different kind of activities instead of doing endless homework. For example, we can read that we are interested in. We can go to the library and surf the Internet for variously kinds of information. In my opinion, exploring study does not help us learn much, but also make us to enjoy study and become masters of study.

It sounds like just the kind of place I'm looking for.
I'd like to see it, please.
W: Sure. Let me give you the address.
(Text 9)
W:
How important are friends to you, Bill
M: I've never had many friends. I've never regarded them as
particularly important. Perhaps that's because I come
from a big family-two brothers and three sisters, and
lots of cousins. That's what's really important to me. My
family. The different members of my family.
If you
really need help, you get it from your family, don't you
Well, at least that's what I've always found. What about
you, Emma
W: To me friendship…having friends…people I know I can
really trust…to me
that's the most important thing in
life. It's more important even than love. If you love
someone, you can always fall out of love again, and that
can lead to a feeling of deep hurt. But a good friend is a
friend for life.
(Text 10)
