一、设计理念
以课程标准和四维核心素养为依据,在阅读中,学生以主题意义探究为目的,以语篇为载体,在理解与表达的语言实践活动中,融合知识学习和技能发展,通过感知、预测、获取、分析、概括、比较、评价、创新等思维活动,建构结构化知识,在分析问题和解决问题的过程中,发展思维品质,形成文化理解,学会学习,塑造正确的人生观和价值观,促进英语学科素养的形成与发展。
二、教学目标
1. 知识和能力目标
1.通过跳读文本,能总结出文章的段落结构及主旨大意。
2.通过独立寻读,能从文段中获取相关的细节信息。
3.通过小组讨论,借助思维导图,能对两事件进行复述。
4.通过对思维导图的运用,能对主题进行写作。
2. 德育目标
1)通过“Martin Luther King被害和9.11事件”这两个文本的阅读,激发学生的阅读兴趣,开阔学生的视野,增加学生的社会常识。
2)通过阅读Martin Luther King的事迹,学生可以更加的尊重英雄,向英雄学习;
通过阅读9.11事件,学生可以增强热爱和平,反对恐怖主义和战争的情感。
Teaching procedures
Step I Warm-up
Smile, a big smile.
(设计意图:通过教师与学生,学生与学生间的相互微笑,拉近师生间的距离,消除紧张情绪。)
Step II Pre-reading
Put things into “events” circle and “common things” circle”.
(设计意图:区分events和common things, 为整体阅读文章奠定基础。)
Step III While-reading
(I) 整体阅读文本。
1.Read the title and the first sentence of the passage and choose what events the passage mainly talks about.
(设计意图:通过读标题和文章首句进行主题意义选择,使学生感悟到读标题和文章首句这一阅读策略的重要性以及本节课要进行对过去事件的阅读。)
2.Skim and answer: What are the two events
(设计意图:通过跳读这一阅读策略,把握文章主要讲了哪两件事。即整体感知文本。)
3.Draw the mind-map.
(设计意图:初步搭建思维导图,为复述文章和利用思维导图写作做铺垫。)
4.Let the students find out how many paragraphs there are in the passage.
(设计意图:提醒学生注意到文本有几个段落,为分段阅读做好准备。)
(II) 分段阅读文本。
1. Read para 1 and find the answers.

2. Write a passage to a magazine.
(设计意图:笔头输出是对口头输出和阅读的巩固。引导学生利用在阅读过程中所学到的句式结构、文本结构,和获取的事件信息,并借助于思维导图来完成写作。)
