【用法】1. until引导的时间状语从句
（1）在含有until引导的时间状语从句中, 如果主句的谓语动词是延续性动词（即动作可以延续一段时间的动词），如: work, live, stay, study, play, wait等，那么主句常常用肯定式，表示动作一直延续到until所表示的时间为止。这时until意为“直到……为止”。如:
I'll work until he tells me to stop. 我会一直工作到他叫我停下来为止。
（2）在含有until引导的时间状语从句中，如果主句的谓语动词是非持续性动词（即动作不可以延续的动词），如: come, go, leave, begin, start, finish等，那么主句常常要用否定式，表示某一动作到until所表示的时间才发生。not...until...意为“直到……才……”。如:
She didn't go to bed until she finished her homework. 她直到做完作业, 才去睡觉。
【注意】until用作连词引导时间状语从句时，从句描述的事如果还没有发生，习惯上也要用一般现在时而不用一般将来时，也就是说当主句用一般将来时（或主句是祈使句时），until引导的时间状语从句要用一般现在时。如:
Don't leave until we come back.在我们回来之前, 不要离开。
We won't go home until the rain stops.我们要直到雨停了才回家。
2. so that引导目的状语从句和结果状语从句
so that可引导目的状语从句，意为“以便；目的是”。so that后面的从句中谓语动词多有may, can, should等情态动词。也可引导结果状语从句，意为“以致”。如:
He got up very early so that he could catch the train. 他起得很早以便能赶上火车。（目的状语从句）
He raised his voice so that everyone heard him. 他提高了声音, 所以大家都听见了。（结果状语从句）
3. although引导让步状语从句
作连词时意为“尽管；虽然”，用来引导让步状语从句，一般位于句首。它所引导的从句不能与并列连词but连用，但可以与yet, still等词连用。如:
Although it was expensive, we still decided to buy it. 虽然它很贵, 我们还是决定买。
