Module3 Journey to space阅读理解专项训练(含解析)
一、阅读判断。
(一)A Trip to the Space Museum
I'm Tom. Last Sunday, I went to the Space Museum with my classmates. It was an exciting trip.
We got to the museum by subway. As soon as we entered, we saw a large model of a spaceship. It looked really cool. Then we went to a hall where there was a show about space exploration. The show used a lot of videos and animations to introduce how humans started to explore space and what they had discovered so far. Some of the knowledge was new to me, but I tried my best to understand it.
After the show, we visited different exhibition areas. In one area, there were real spacesuits and tools used by astronauts. I was so interested in them that I spent a long time looking at each one. We also saw some moon rocks. They were brought back to the Earth by astronauts.
At noon, we had lunch in the museum's restaurant. The food was delicious and not too expensive. In the afternoon, we joined a science talk given by a famous scientist. He talked about the future of space exploration. It was a bit hard to follow, but I learned a lot from it.
Before leaving, we bought some space - themed souvenirs. I bought a keychain with a small model of a satellite. I really enjoyed this trip and I hope I can go to space one day.

(二)My Dream of Space Travel
My name is Lucy. I have always dreamed of traveling to space. I love reading books about space and watching space - related movies.
Last month, I went to a space exhibition. It was held in our city's big exhibition hall. When I entered, I was amazed by the large number of space - related things on display. There were models of different spaceships, from the early ones to the modern ones. I learned about the development of spaceships over the years.
There were also some interactive zones. In one zone, I could use a special machine to simulate (模拟) the feeling of walking on the moon. It was so much fun! I also watched a short film about astronauts' daily life in space. It showed how they ate, slept and did exercise in zero - gravity environment.
The most exciting part for me was seeing a real meteorite (陨石). It was in a glass box. I had never seen a real meteorite before. I stood in front of it for a long time, looking at it carefully.
After the exhibition, I became even more interested in space. I hope that one day I can make my dream of space travel come true.

(一)Astronauts' Life in Space
Life in space is very different from life on Earth. Astronauts have to face many challenges.
Food is one of the challenges. In space, astronauts can't eat the same food as we do on Earth. Their food is specially prepared. It is often dried or in tubes. They need to add water to some of the food before eating. And they have to be careful not to let the food float away.
Sleeping is also difficult. Astronauts sleep in special sleeping bags. They need to tie the sleeping bags to the wall or their beds because there is no gravity. If they don't do this, they will float around in the spaceship.
Astronauts also have to exercise regularly. Without gravity, their muscles will become weak. So they use special exercise equipment in the spaceship to keep their muscles strong.
Communication is another problem. Although astronauts can talk to people on Earth, there is a time - delay (延迟) because of the long distance. Sometimes they have to wait for a few seconds or even minutes to get a reply.
Despite these challenges, astronauts enjoy their life in space. They get to see the beautiful Earth from space and do scientific experiments that can't be done on Earth.

( ) 5. What can astronauts do in space
A. They can see the beautiful Earth and do special experiments.
B. They can only do scientific experiments.
C. They can only enjoy the view of space.
(二)The Future of Space Exploration
Space exploration has come a long way in the past few decades. Scientists are constantly working on new technologies to make space exploration more efficient and successful.
One of the future plans is to build a space station on the moon. This space station will be a base for further exploration of the solar system. Astronauts will be able to live and work there for a long time. They can do research on the moon's environment, resources and even conduct experiments related to long - term space living.
Another exciting plan is the exploration of Mars. Scientists hope to send more manned missions to Mars in the future. They want to find out if there was or is life on Mars. They also want to study the planet's climate and geology. If humans can live on Mars one day, it will be a huge step for the future of humanity.
In addition, new spaceships are being developed. These spaceships will be faster and more powerful. They will be able to travel longer distances in a shorter time. This will make it possible to explore more distant planets and stars.
Space exploration not only helps us understand the universe better but also brings many benefits to our daily life. For example, some technologies developed for space exploration are now used in medical treatment and communication.

(二)
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live on another planet Life on other planets would be very different from life on Earth. If we lived on Mars, for example, we would have to wear special spacesuits all the time. The atmosphere on Mars is very thin, and it can't protect us from the sun's harmful rays. The temperature on Mars also changes a lot. It can be very cold at night and quite warm during the day. We would need to build special houses that can keep us warm and protect us from the radiation.
On Jupiter, life would be even more difficult. Jupiter is a gas giant, which means it doesn't have a solid surface. We couldn't build houses or walk around like we do on Earth. If we wanted to live on Jupiter, we would need to build floating cities in its atmosphere. But the strong winds and storms on Jupiter would make this a big challenge.
Saturn's environment is also not suitable for human life. Its rings are beautiful but dangerous. The particles in the rings could damage any spacecraft or structure we build. And like Jupiter, Saturn is a gas planet, so there is no solid ground to stand on.
However, scientists are still exploring the possibility of life on other planets. They are looking for planets that might have the right conditions, such as the right temperature, water, and a suitable atmosphere. Maybe one day, humans will be able to live on other planets.
根据短文内容,完成下列句子。
1、On Mars, we would have to wear special spacesuits because the atmosphere is very thin and can't protect us from ____________________.
2、The temperature on Mars changes a lot. It's very cold at night and ____________________ during the day.
3、Jupiter is a gas giant without ____________________, so we couldn't build houses or walk around like on Earth.
4、Saturn's rings are beautiful but dangerous because __________________ could damage any spacecraft or structure we build.
5、Scientists are looking for planets with the right conditions, including the right temperature, water, and ____________________.
