Some people are worried about the effect that social media has on the lives of young people. The following text was written by a reporter. He tried to find out whether social media has a positive or negative effect on children.
Social media websites are communities where users can share photos and talk to each other online. They are very popular—millions of people use social media every day. Although some people think social media is a positive thing, many are worried about the negative effects it can have on young people.
James, a 15-year-old student, thinks that social media has many benefits. “I get very nervous when I talk to people in real life—I find it so much easier to express myself when I use social media. Another advantage is that I hardly ever forget anyone’s birthday now because I can look it up online!” Lots of users agree that social media helps young people stay connected to their friends and make new friends from around the world.
However, social media also has many problems. Social media may help young people find friends, but it also makes it easier for bullies to hurt them. Some parents believe that social media makes it harder for families to spend time together. They say their children are so crazy about social media that they ignore(忽视) the rest of their family. Many teachers think social media can distract(使分心) their students from schoolwork.
There is no doubt that social media has some problems, and it is very important to avoid spending too much time online. However, generally speaking, social media can be a positive thing for young people. It is a way for nervous people to make friends, and for young people to stay connected.

二、阅读理解[2024·武汉]
You may have a house robot that can do housework for you. But is it so smart? Meet Laura, a robot in the National Library in Madrid, Spain, copying out the old books and writings in its collection. See Aurora, a headless dog-sized robot used to keep birds and other animals away at an Alaskan airport. Watch another 1.8 meter-tall legless robot called EveR6, waving its arms to guide musicians through a performance.
Those robots above require artificial intelligence (AI)(人工智能). AI is a computer system(系统) that can understand languages, make decisions and solve problems. AI can be taught skills using a process called machine learning. Humans give AI information such as books, photos or videos to train it. The more information it studies, the better it can do its job.
▲ . For example, when you watch TV, AI is watching you. It’ll know what your favorite is and suggest similar ones. In hospitals, AI is very good at suggesting treatments and can even invent new medicines. To cut down food waste, some schools introduce online systems for the students to choose meals ahead of time. In cities, AI is used to watch out for cars that make black smoke. It works together with the police and transportation teams to stop them and keep the air clean. AI can help us fight climate(气候) change by finding clever ways to reduce energy use.
Some people worry that AI will take away a large number of jobs and also fear that AI could develop out of our control and bring danger to humans. However, AI is expected to be a more powerful production tool that will help humans achieve more in less time. It is believed that the flying car will be made to offer an easier way out of the morning traffic jam(交通堵塞). Humans imagine AI might even find a way to solve the problems of our energy needs completely. Anyway, there is still a long journey for humans and AI.
2.What BIG question does Paragraph 2 answer?
A.What is AI?
B.Why are AI robots made?
C.Where is AI used?
D.How many AI robots are mentioned?
3.Which of the following can be put in ▲ ?
A.AI will be developed rapidly
B.Humans depend too much on AI
C.Humans wonder if AI could think
D.AI has become part of daily life
4.In the future, AI is expected to be able to __________.
A.suggest TV programs
B.cut down food waste
C.invent new medicines
D.help produce enough energy
5.[归纳总结]What would the author write about after the last paragraph?

三、任务型阅读[2024·临沂改编]
After a game like football, the players might get an X-ray in the hospital if they hurt their legs or arms. A dentist can use X-rays to look at teeth. And airport workers use an X-ray machine to check objects before a plane leaves. Nowadays, X-ray technology is widely used in medicine and other fields.
X-rays were first discovered by a German scientist, Wilhelm Conrad R ntgen (1845-1923). He found them quite by accident in 1895.One day, he discovered that an unknown kind of radiation(放射线) could pass through hard objects like bones(骨头). Later, R ntgen took a photo of his wife’s hand. It clearly showed her ring and her bones. That was the first X-ray photo in the world.
Why is there an “X” in the word X-ray? It’s because R ntgen couldn’t explain exactly how it worked. He just knew that X-rays were new and useful for science. In fact, X-rays soon became an important tool in medicine. With the help of X-rays, doctors could see inside the human body for the first time without surgery(外科手术).
R ntgen was awarded the first Nobel Prize(诺贝尔奖) in physics in 1901 for his discovery. When he was asked what he was thinking at the moment of discovery, he replied, “I didn’t think, I investigated(研究).” R ntgen gave away his Nobel Prize money to his university. And he never took out any patents(专利权) on X-rays, to make sure that the world could freely make use of his discovery.

Are Home Robots a Good Idea?
As society develops, more and more families use home robots in their daily lives. Is it a good idea?
I’ve made a survey in our class recently.
60% of the students think it’s a good idea to have a home robot. First, home robots help with housework so people have more time to do things they enjoy. Second, home robots can act as guards when no one is at home. Third, they can also make people feel less lonely. However, 28% of the students disagree. First, depending on the robots too much may make people lazier. Second, it also costs too much to buy a home robot at present. Finally, home robots are high-energy appliances.
In my opinion, home robots can make our lives easier. I will surely get one in the future.

  要求:1.必须包含要点提示,可适当发挥;
2.词数:80~100,开头已给出,不计入总词数。
The Elderly Assistant robot
is tall and looks very cute with big eyes. He looks like a friendly person, making it easier for the elderly to accept him.
The robot is of great use. First, he can give the elderly medicine on time when they are ill. He will also call for help at once if they meet danger. Besides, the robot can do some cooking and sweep the floor for the elderly, which makes their life easier. Last but not least, he is good at communicating with the elderly. He can tell stories and jokes, bringing joy and laughter into the life of the elderly.
Although robots can help us a lot, our love for the elderly can’t be replaced. Let’s take good care of the elderly with the help of robots, making sure they live happily.

Some people are worried about the e fect that social media has on the lives of young people. The following text was written by a reporter. He tried to find out whether social media has a positive or negative efect on children.
Social media websites are communities where users can share photos and talk to each other online. They are very popular—millions of people use social media every day. Although some people think social media is a positive thing , many are worried about the negative effects it can have on young people.
James , a 15-year-old student , thinks that social media has many benefits.
“I get very nervous when I talk to people in real life—I find it so much easier to express myself when I use social media. Another advantage is that I hardly ever forget anyone ’s birthday now because I can look it up online!” Lots of users agree that social media helps young people stay connected to their friends and make new friends from around the world.
However , social media also has many problems. Social media may help young people find friends , but it also makes it easier for bullies to hurt them. Some parents believe that social media makes it harder for families to spend time together. They say their children are so crazy about social media that they ignore(忽视) the rest of their family. Many teachers think social media can distract(使分心) their students from schoolwork.
There is no doubt that social media has some problems , and it is very important to avoid spending too much time online. However , generally speaking , social media can be a positive thing for young people. It is a way for nervous people to make friends , and for young people to stay connected.

二、阅读理解[2024·武汉]
You may have a house robot that can do housework for you. But is it so smart? Meet Laura , a robot in the National Library in Madrid , Spain , copying out the old books and writings in its collection. See Aurora , a headless dog-sized robot used to keep birds and other animals away at an Alaskan airport. Watch another 1.8 meter-tall legless robot called EveR6 , waving its arms to guide musicians through a performance.
Those robots above require artificial intelligence (AI)(人工智能). AI is a computer system(系统) that can understand languages , make decisions and solve problems. AI can be taught skills using a process called machine learning. Humans give AI information such as books , photos or videos to train it . The more information it studies , the better it can do its job.
▲ . For example , when you watch TV , AI is watching you. It ’ll know what your favorite is and suggest similar ones. In hospitals , AI is very good at suggesting treatments and can even invent new medicines. To cut down food waste , some schools introduce online systems for the students to choose meals ahead of time. In cities , AI is used to watch out for cars that make black smoke. It works together with the police and transportation teams to stop them and keep the air clean. AI can help us fight climate(气候) change by finding clever ways to reduce energy use.
Some people worry that AI will take away a large number of jobs and also fear that AI could develop out of our control and bring danger to humans. However , AI is expected to be a more powerful production tool that will help humans achieve more in less time. It is believed that the flying car will be made to offer an easier way out of the morning traffic jam(交通堵塞). Humans imagine AI might even find a way to solve the problems of our energy needs completely. Anyway , there is still a long journey for humans and AI.
2.What BIG question does Paragraph 2 answer?
A.What is AI?
B.Why are AI robots made?
C.Where is AI used?
D.How many AI robots are mentioned?
3.Which of the following can be put in ▲
A.AI will be developed rapidly
B.Humans depend too much on AI C.Humans wonder if AI could think D.AI has become part of daily life
4.In the future , AI is expected to be able to __________.
A.suggest TV programs B.cut down food waste C.invent new medicines
D.help produce enough energy
5.[归纳总结]What would the author write about after the last paragraph?
A.The end ofAI.
B.The history of AI.
C.The way to get along with AI.
D.The skill of making AI robots.

三、任务型阅读[2024·临沂改编]
After a game like football , the players might get an X-ray in the hospital if they hurt their legs or arms. A dentist can use X-rays to look at teeth. And airport workers use an X-ray machine to check objects before a plane leaves. Nowadays , X-ray technology is widely used in medicine and other fields.
X-rays were first discovered by a German scientist , Wilhelm Conrad R ntgen (1845-1923). He found them quite by accident in 1895.One day , he discovered that an unknown kind of radiation(放射线) could pass through hard objects like bones(骨头). Later , R ntgen took a photo of his wife ’s hand. It clearly showed her ring and her bones. That was the first X-ray photo in the world.
Why is there an “X ” in the word X-ray? It ’s because R ntgen couldn ’t explain exactly how it worked. He just knew that X-rays were new and useful for science. In fact , X-rays soon became an important tool in medicine. With the help of X-rays , doctors could see inside the human body for the first time without surgery(外科手术).
R ntgen was awarded the first Nobel Prize(诺贝尔奖) in physics in 1901 for his discovery. When he was asked what he was thinking at the moment of discovery , he replied , “I didn ’t think , I investigated(研究).” R ntgen gave away his Nobel Prize money to his university. And he never took out any patents(专利权) on X-rays , to make sure that the world could freely make use of his discovery.
